Decor of the accommodation was lovely.

Very modern appliances in the kitchen, big living room area, and the views were gorgeous. My son had an amazing time feeding the ducks. Warm, so nice and cosy for winter, and not too bad summer either. Only fault we had was with the cleanliness standards. There were some issues, not major but still made us uncomfortable. This fault and could easily be improved upon. * Walking into the property on the first evening there were at least 20 spiders hanging off the ceiling and cob webs that have clearly been there for more than a day. Straightaway it made us question how clean the touch points were especially since we all have to be ultra clean due to covid-19. * Loads of spiders (and spiderlings) on the outside of patio doors which meant we couldn't open the door until we cleaned them away. * My daughter is petrified of spiders and had her hoodie up throughout her stay in case the spiders dropped down from the ceiling. We couldn't reach it to clean it away. So she certainly did not enjoy her stay as she was on tenterhooks and uncomfortable. *The filter in cooker hood was not cleaned for a long time as it was dripping with grease. I had to wipe it clean otherwise the grease would drop into my food whilst cooking. * Stains were on the mattress protector. I suppose the positive is that I discovered this on the last day as we had to strip the beds for them as part of checking out otherwise all week I'd feel disgusted having to lie on it. *Earliest check in time was 5pm to allow them extra cleaning time so I am shocked that the place was so unclean. I'm the sort of person who gives everything a wipe down anyway wherever we stay and even more so because of covid-19 especially frequently touched areas and the kitchen cabinet handles were not cleaned properly as I had to use some effort to remove the food specks. * However, the positive cleanliness wise is cleaning products were left for guests to use - maybe they expected guests to do the cleaning themselves before unpacking! In conclusion, great lake views, great facilities, lovely furnishings, just improvement required on cleaning and a new mattress protector.

There were lovely finishing touches that we really appreciated as it was Christmas.

There was a light up Xmas tree, sweets basket and lovely decorations. The house itself is lovely, bright , spacious with a relaxing view. The rooms are spacious and the living area is well furnished. There are multiple lighting options which I liked a lot. The en-suit bathroom has a sensor night light which I found a very smart idea. The bedlinen is comfy and warm. The heating was great, even on 18C the house was warm. (outside temperature was 6C) Parking is available next to the house. We also used the swimming pool and restaurant on site. Easy access with friendly and helpful staff. Grocery shops are nearby. There is noise from the motorway but it was expected. Overall it was a pleasant stay but I would like to mention that the mattresses are overused and was uncomfortable to sleep on. Some of us ended up sleeping in the living room and on the bed without the mattress. It must be reviewed and change. The plates wasn't all clean but as it is a "Clean after yourself" kitchen I expected it, so I just rewashed whatever I used. In the en-suit bathroom part of the shower is broken, it is not possible to raise the temperature of the water higher that lukewarm. I guess if it was not reported before, it is not something that obvious when it comes to fixing things. I hope that the mattresses will be changed and the shower fixed as it is a lovely place to relax away from the crowd.

We took our parents to the shore beats work lodge, plus our 2 year old and 6 month old baby.

To say this was brilliant is an understatement. Everything was amazing. The lake view was breathtaking. The most calming view to wake up to everyday. Surrounding areas of this lodge was beautiful. The beautiful scenery, ullswater and the highest mountain in england - scafells pike - everything was within 2 hours. The drive takes your breath away. We forget we are in England. England has the most gorgeous views. My parents loved it and did not want to come back at all. We literally had to ask if they could extend our stay, however, guests had already booked the place so it was time for us to depart. If my parents loved it that much, this means it was AMAZING. Everyone left extremely relaxed and happy but sad to leave the lodge. The only downside was that there were so many spiders inside the lodge and outside which made it difficult to open the main door. The cobwebs and spiders were huge. It took an hour to vaccuum and mop the spiders outside. The lady wasnt able to do anything about it. Overall, after spiders were cleaned up, we were able to really relax. My toddler can't stop talking about this place. Loved it so much. We all loved feeding the ducks 3x a day, esp my parents and toddler. Cooking, eating, sleeping, etc was a dream to do. Didnt feel like a chore at all. Thank you for making us experience such a pleasant stay. We will definitely be back for some more.

The lodge was lovely, light, airy and spacious.

With comfortable beds and soft towels. The owners have obviously spent time and money making it a very attractive place to stay. However, they are being badly let down by their cleaner. Two baking trays were covered in grease and dried on food. The microwave had also not been cleaned. It had rice left on the glass plate and evidence of food on the sides. I’m not a clean freak, but because of Covid the lodge should have been cleaned thoroughly, so I spot checked other areas, which is not something I would normally do. Subsequently I found the cooker hood was greasy on the top, picture and mirror frames were thick with dust. The bed side lamps in the double bedroom were also very dusty - weeks worth of dust. The toilet seat in the en-suite had dirt near the hinges. The lodge does not accept guests until 5pm supposedly to give extra time for the cleaning, disinfecting and sanitising. However, it appears that no deep clean took place. The noise from the M6 should be mentioned. Although it can’t be heard from inside the lodge it did distract on the veranda.

Stayed at this lodge many times.

it's offers great comfort value for money in a stunning lakeside location. It's spacious and spotlessly clean It's a short drive to Morecambe and the lovely little town of Heysham. Half a hour takes you to the breathtaking beauty of the lake district and Kirby Lonsdale slightly less time. The historic town of Lancaster is a short drive and worth a visit to its very own castle. The on site restaurant is very good and gets busy in high season so booking is recommended. It lovely to walk around the lake to take advantage of all the bird and wild life. There is a pool gym and steam room on site too Basically this lodge is a proper home from home in a stunning location with great on site facilities. Counting the days to my next trip !
