      The good part.

Hot tub was hot. Shower was hot. The bad part. The glass panels on the decking rattle due to missing gaskets good luck with sleeping/ watching tv. Both bathroom fans don’t work Toilet not fixed to the floor. Rotten skirting board due to shower leaking The small bedroom the lights don’t work The master wardrobe is of no use as it’s full of baby stuff E.g high chair / cot and cushions for the outside . There’s a random mattress behind the settee’oh and a 2nd fridge freezer in the kitchen as well as a built in one . There’s 3 entry doors all with issues first one the top hinge is faulty and it has a broken retaining clip. So you are likely to get smacked with a glass door . Plus the gap at the top of the door lets in plenty of ventilation when it’s shut . The final straw was the most uncomfortable mattress I’ve had the miss fortune to pay for to try and sleep in . Then the corner settee hardly classed as fit to sit on as the outside chairs where much comfier. I’m sure that scenario is the other way round normally. Most of the above is lack of investment in maintenance and cleaning. Ended up cutting our stay short due to not being able to sleep or sit comfy and relax.

      Good points.

The farmer and his wife such lovely people they came to show us how everything worked and even brought us fresh egg's. The surrounding are beautiful and the hot tub is great. Bad points. The log cabin (lodge) is a caravan covered in wood to make it look authentic. The wind was incredibly bad which nobody could control understandable, but was blowing through the windows and front door which is broken, making it very cold even with electric fires on and the noise from the wind was that bad we got no sleep. Shower cubicle is full of black mold. Above Seating area in front room was spiders and webs with insects attached. Floor in living room is collapsing near tall cabinets you can feel it as you walk over leaning. No tea coffee sugar soap every other lodges we have stayed have this on arrival complimentary. We had booked for 2 nights only stayed 1 left there at 7.30 am next morning couldn't stick it out anymore.

Just no words for how lovely and amazing this place is.

Amazing weekend away at hillcrest Lodge. Lovely owners Steve and Lorraine leave you to it but around on the farm if you need anything. Steve even brought us come lovely fresh eggs for breakfast from the chickens on the farm. We got to pet and feed the horses and loved waking up to amazing fresh countryside air and beautiful views. The lodge its self if beautiful, warm and cosy and very clean! The beds was so comfy and there was lots of room for 4 of us to enjoy our evenings in after exploring beautiful chipping. When we left we had a chat with Steve and told him our plans for the day which included going for.lunxh locally, we forgot a bag and when they couldn't get in touch with us by mobile phone they called the local pub we told them we was going so qe would have chance to go back for it! We really CANNOT wait to book back. Thank you sooo much!!
