The house is generally as described but the two bedrooms are very small and there is insufficient space to unpack and store clothes in each bedroom.
We stayed with 4 children aged 9, 11, 12 and 14. One of the bedrooms was extremely small and not really suitable for two people to share. The main bedroom is lovely with ample space and a comfortable bed. The en-suite is small but perfectly adequate. The main shower room is in need of some updating. The shower door needs a new seal to prevent water leaking out of the shower when in use- this was a major issue for 4 children using the shower as the floor was continuously soaking wet. The kitchen is a good size and has all the necessary facilities other than a tumble dryer which made it difficult to dry towels and swim suits especially with 4 children. The weather didnât always permit drying outside so a dryer would improve things considerably. The main lounge is lovely although the sofas are small and it is a tight squeeze to sit 6 people all at once. The Tv does not have freeview channels - it is a smart tv so itâs possible to access all the usual apps. The outdoor space is pleasant enough. It is all decked. There is a large table and chairs, a small bbq and a clothes line. It would be a much more comfortable experience if there were cushions for the outdoor chairs as they are very heavy wooden chairs that arenât particularly comfortable. Also, a couple of sun loungers with cushions would be a good idea to relax properly in the garden. Overall, we had a lovely holiday at Crantock Lodge and would return as the location is fantastic - very close to the village and beach enabling us to walk everywhere.

I enjoyed my stay in Floraâs Hut although, due to an unforeseen commitment, I unfortunately had to cut my week short.
Despite the appalling weather I experienced whilst I was there I found the hut cosy and quite sheltered from the elements. It was only myself and my little dog so we had enough room although, at 5â6â and petite, I wouldnât recommend for very tall or bigger-built people as the bed, although very comfortable, might prove a little snug. And although the 8 cushions were aesthetically pleasing, they were quite impractical as there was nowhere, other than the floor, to put them when in bed. I did struggle somewhat with somewhere to hang my wet waterproofs and soggy clothes, and having gone through several pairs of boots, trying to get things dry was a challenge. I like to read in bed, too, so found the lack of bedside lamp rather unfortunate, as one had to get out of bed to turn off the overhead lights. And I would have benefited from a shelf over the shower room basin to put my toiletries and contact lens fluids. Ended up just rearranging the kitchen shelf and using the kitchen sink instead. The water was lovely and hot in the shower, which was great after all the cold rain. I was very glad of the secure garden as Jimmy is losing his sight and wasnât able to get lost. Sadly, because the weather was so very bad, I wasnât able to sit in the secluded little garden, but on a pleasant day Iâm sure it would be wonderful. I liked the peaceful location with easy access to the main roads. And it was kind of the hosts to leave milk and biscuits. I would stay there again especially in a drier season. Thank you.

Lovely clean bright chalet.
Excellent use of space. Lovely comfy beds, great shower. Well equipped. Only thing we missed was a small freezer compartment part to fridge, just for ice cubes for our drinks ! No reception on TV, but contacted the owner beforehand and asked if it was OK to bring a DVD player, which was fine, but as it turned out we didnt use it as we could log on to out Amazon Prime! The site was peaceful and friendly. There was construction and updating going on which meant the facilities were not up and running, but as we had dogs with us, we hadnt really expected to use them. Spar, Co-op, local pub, Chinese takeaway, Pizza all easy walk. Did feel it was shame that there was a lovely old manor house, neglected, with ugly new builds surrounding it, but thats a personal view. Great location to visit lots of places, nice walks in area, sandy beaches properly dog friendly before 10am and after 6pm at this time of year, some all year round, just watch tide times to find the sand lol! Very grateful to find a nice place like this within budget, in this current climate of crazy prices!! Parking charges are also crazy so check for free car parks for Bude and Widemouth Bay. (nice food van at the latter -and nice cafe at the pay and display. Also be mindful of the possible algae at Tamar Lakes (we saw the sign after our walk) A big shout out to the excellent Killock Farm Coarse Fishery 2 mins up the road £6 dawn to dusk, 5 lakes - partner very happy! Thank you for letting us stay :) x

Crantock Cottage is by far the best place we have stayed at in Cornwall.
It is comfortable, relaxing, very well equipped and finished to a very high standard. We particularly liked the decor in the master suite. Our sons - aged 14 and 22 - loved having double beds to themselves! The outdoor area is just perfect for outdoor dining, being large, private and conveniently located. Our only difficulty was with lack of places close at hand for a quick dog walk without getting into the car, and a lack of pavements in Crantock - both of which were issues for our nervous dogs - but that is not the fault of the cottage itself. We had an issue with the electric hob on our first morning but this was resolved quickly by our being sent a temporary plug-in hob. I believe the owner has a permanent solution in hand. Cranrock itself is exceptionally beautiful, and although busy in high season, it's worlds away from the chaos of nearby Newquay. Dining can be a bit of a problem, so where possible it's advisable to book restaurants well in advance, or turn up early for the Jam Jar pizza restaurant. Make sure you get food in as as back up! Overall, we had a fantastic stay, and we would love to think we will visit again one day.

The lodge was lovely and clean, been updated since the photos.
The kitchen was well stocked with all needed for cooking apart from a pizza cutter but that was not the end of the world. One set of towels each for the week was not the best with 5 of us showering daily. The placement of the lodge left very little privacy with the lodges so close together. Not nets meant that we were unable to open the curtains in the bedrooms. The park was a massive letdown. The trip had been moved twice due to the fun of the last 2 years, so having to book swimming was not part of the plan. But we only used the pool once and didn't last more than half an hour. The pool area was horrible, dark, and nasty. The water was freezing. We didn't bother again after that. The staff seemed nice enough but not as welcome as they could have. When checking we had the right lodge they were very quick to say it was not their lodge. I got that but I only wanted to check I was in the right place. After looking at the pool, we never bothered with any other facilities. I don't think I would return as the park is so run down and the lodges are very very packed together
