What our customers say about their holidays

    • Jennifer - Verified booking

      Westbrook Lodge is amazing.

It was easy to gain entry to the Parkdean site on arrival, with a barrier code from reception. There was ample parking for two vehicles with steps up to, and a gate on to the deck. The vestibule/utility area as you enter the lodge itself was ideal for storing coats, bags and shoes, and meant the lodge didn't feel cluttered with our "stuff". The kitchen area is gorgeous and very well equipped. There was more at the lodge than we were expecting e.g.; tea towels, oven gloves, tin foil, kitchen roll, washing up liquid, cloths, spare bin bags, hand wash etc. There were also a couple of dishwasher tablets and condiments (e.g.; salt, pepper, vinegar). It's hard to say whether these items are usually included or had been left by previous guests because the checklist we received with our booking confirmation said for us to pack most of those items - it was a nice surprise. We found everything easy to use and the instruction manual/quick start guide was easy to follow. The bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable. We travelled as a couple, and so we didn't use bedroom’s 2 or 3, but they were all good sized rooms (two doubles, one twin) with storage and wall-mounted TV's. It's unusual to be able to say there were lots of coat hangers - but there really were. And having two bathrooms was a real treat (with the ensuite being bigger than our bathroom at home!). The Parkdean site itself was lovely and quiet with a short walk to the lake. There are plenty of rubbish bin and recycling points around the park. Bowness-on-Windermere itself is a 5-7 minute walk away and ideal for the shops, bars and restaurants. We really enjoyed seeing the town come alive in the evenings whilst enjoying a cocktail (perhaps two?) in the Fizzy Tarte, and there are a couple of fish & chip shops (amongst other takeaways and amenities) if you didn't want to eat out, but didn't fancy cooking either. We would definitely stay here again.

This was my wife & I's second stay at Limefitt and third consecutive year in the Lakes using Park Dean Resorts .

This Lodge was in immaculate condition , excellent location , tucked away at the top of a private cul de sac with glorious views from the decking . The Lodge was very airy and modern with every eventuality catered for . ( The sound quality of the docking station for my I-pod was brilliant ) . Well equipped kitchen ( although we were only there for 3 nights so ate out during the daytime ) and well suited to a medium sized family . Our little Westie , Poppy , settled in straight away and loved the fact that she could stroll around the decking as she pleased . Little things like courtesy lighting in the bathrooms so as not to disturb people and generous stock of DVDs and games if you wanted them . The check in at reception was effortless , site in immaculate condition again . The leather sofa was not the most comfortable ( sliding about like a bar of soap ) but that's just our personal preference , all told a great "find" for us - we'd love to come back again . What did you enjoy most about your stay? The quality of the lodge and it's immaculate condition , great location on the site . What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Visited the Lakes Aqaurium for the first time - very pleasant - better again if you have time & combine it with a steamer trip .

The property is immaculately clean and tidy.

Constructive criticism only, generic constant references to a dishwasher when there isnt one should be removed, little stickers with instructions everywhere particularly referencing the pandemic which is no more should be removed and a personalised info sheet on the property added to a folder or stuck on the door but would be nicer in a folder or laminate on the table. TV - I appreciate the property is in the middle of nowhere but its 2023 you can get booster boxes for broadband to allow visitors access to TV on demand at least, the property is fairly isolated and the weather isnt a certain so it would be much better to be able to access channels at your leisure and not a costly addition. Leave a welcome pack of some kind and people will use it, kitchen foil - this could then be used to protect oven trays, kitchen roll, better rubbish bags , all are necessary but when only staying three nights you dont want to bring a heap of stuff with you and would help the owner keep it clean as people would use it.

My children and I thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at Birthwaite Lodge.

This lodge was beautiful and the owners have gone above and beyond to make everything special. The lodge was exceptionally clean. So many little extras provided really made our holiday feel like a luxury home away home. Coffee/Tea/Milk , Shampoo/Conditioner/Soap.Alarm clocks by the beds and the most comfortable mattresses ever. We slept so well!! Birthwaite Lodge is in a lovely quiet location on the park, with amazing views. We had a fantastic holiday at Limefitt park and will definitely stay in this lovely lodge again. Thank you so much to the owners. Will happily recommend this lodge to family and friends. What did you enjoy most about your stay? Beautiful park and staying in such a clean and comfortable lodge What one experience (e.g attraction, walk, day out) would you recommend for our future guests? Lovely walk to Troutbeck tongue starting behind the Haybarn Pub

Booked for three nights for myself, partner and two dogs.

Firstly, very grateful and thankful dogs are allowed to stay in such a lovely lodge…they were so excited!! The lodge is much more than a home away from home. It’s somewhere you can properly relax, forget about the normal routine of life and generally just enjoy the lodge and its wonderful surroundings. Mattresses super comfy, kitchen well equipped, lounge area lovely and wonderful electric fire which we did use once or twice for a few minutes. Honestly we just loved everything about this lodge. Location in the park was great and very private (no other visitors walking past). Dogs absolutely loved going to the dog field (which we seemed to time very well as they were the only dogs there) and then going for a cool off in the river! We would highly recommend this lodge. I miss it already! Thank you so Much.
