An absolutely luxurious and fully equipped practically brand-new Shepherd's Hut (lucky shepherd!

) The underfloor heating and wood burning stove, combined with full insulation, was more than adequate to heat the hut, in cool but not freezing conditions. The golf buggy to transport luggage from the car was a fun novelty. Super comfortable bed, and lovely welcome basket with apple juice, eggs and honey all from Peter and Lisa at Little Silver House, and other goodies too (a bottle of wine, cheese scones, coffee, shortbread) Amazon echo a really nice touch..instant music on request. Excellent shower in the tiny but well designed bathroom, and the hot tub, of which we made full use morning and evening, was wonderful, especially in the dark under the stars. Lots of info about the surrounding area; a very pleasant walk up to the pub in High Bickington, with magnificent views of the surrounding countryside. The excellent looking village shop closes at 1pm on Saturday, by the way. All in all, a wonderful cosy weekend. Thank you Peter and Lisa

Awesome lodge, so comfortable and luxurious, huge garden and secure grounds for family and dogs to explore. If you want a place to get off the treadmill of life and go off grid to totally relax this is the place. We had the best sleep ever in the most comfortable bed, and then with our coffee in the morning (with a selection of pods provided for the Nespresso machine) was amazing to watch the deer, birds of prey, and lots of other wildlife right on the doorstep. Off the beaten track, but we found superstores to deliver a weeks shop. Or if you prefer it’s a short drive to local stores. Great base to visit Devon, Somerset and Cornwall. Communication and Info from the owners prior to our visit was spot on, and so welcoming. Would highly recommend, and we will definitely be going back. A slice of heaven.

We originally booked the Bella Mere but, apparently owner cancelled 2 weeks before our stay?

So after numerous phone calls to yourselves we managed to rearrange a different property on the same site which was a day later each end of the holiday, which meant we had less time with friends we went with. We stayed in the MoJo which was very unsettling & disruptive because of numerous issues we had with the hot water from day one & throughout which made us leave your site a day earlier . Before we set off to stay at the Mojo we were given £50 compensation which was really unacceptable as the arrangements & days were changed that’s including the arrangements we made back home too. We would like this matter looked into & compensation considered because of the various hot water & disruption throughout our stay, including days out with our friends who were staying in the ocean terrace.

The photos of the hut do not do it justice.

A great deal of care and thought has obviously gone into the set up and the results are amazing. The huts are nicely secluded on a hill side with amazing views something shared with the hot tub. Inside the hut is a cosy area just perfect for two, it is well laid out and comes with all you would need for a break. The need to use a golf cart is a surprise but when you get to the hut you can understand why and to have cars being used would ruin the tranquil setting, it was however a big challenging with the amount of rain. The host also provide the most amazing welcome basket full of local treats and a very comprehensive guide book to the local area. If you want a quiet relaxing break in beautiful surroundings then this is definitely the place to go.
