"Brilliant break just to be able to sit in a quiet spot immediately overlooking the harbour and the sea beyond whilst watching the cycle of the tides through the various windows is very therapeutic. The comfortable apartment on the top floor of this historic grade 2 listed building is ideal for two with a good size lounge and bedroom all overlooking the harbour and sea whilst the dining area, the well equipped kitchen and the ensuite bathroom face the large terraced garden at the back. The apartment reflects well on the friendly owners, Debs and Alastair, who do all they can to please whilst seeking to ensure that the accommodation is well maintained and equipped to a high standard. From this location everything in the town is within a short stroll. We would recommend considering contacting the Tourist Information in advance to get a parking permit as free parking in the road immediately outside is limited."

"We found Crown Cottage a bit disappointing. It looks charming, just like the pictures on the website, and has the basic facilities (except a shower) but is in reality somewhat past its best, some things are a bit tatty, or just old, like the ancient storage heaters (we had a very cold first evening and night). The house was grubby in a lot of areas (especially the oven and fridge). It has a nice little enclosed garden, but even this is somewhat unkempt. The house itself is in a nice peaceful location, handily mid-way between Bury St Edmunds and Sudbury, ideal for exploring the local area, and the village itself is very pretty. If the house was cleaner and the fixtures and fittings were renewed, it would be a lovely place."

"Arndale Cottage was a fantastic base, a beautiful cottage and with more than enough space for two couples and two toddlers. The garden is lovely, and was visited daily by sheep - although this did render it difficult for the children to play in amongst what the sheep left behind! We have been assured by the attentive, efficient and very pleasant Property Manager, Neil, that this is being taken care of by the farmer...and we've no doubt it will be. The Aga in the kitchen took a little getting used to, but was fine to use - and suffice to say we will certainly consider staying at Arndale Cottage again. A genuinely lovely place to stay."

"Received a lovely, friendly welcome on arrival from Paul with good local advice on where to eat, shop etc.On the positive side beds were comfy and good quality towels.Overall the cottage was dark and looked tired. The kitchen was adequate but not as clean as I would like and cooker, microwave old.Outside was in need of a tidy up too with parking a little tight (but we do have a big car).Be good to have candles or torches that work to help if there is a power cut (as we experienced).Good pub next door and a great butchers open in the mornings on the green. Highly recommend."

"Beautiful well thought out cottage. Everything you need, perfect location for Windemere, Grange over Sands, Coniston and even further a field for Ska Fell for a day trip. Kitchen stocked with everything you need, great layout and communal space, perfect for full capacity. The snug with fire off the kitchen making for a good space for the kids or grand parents to chill, while others have a glass of wine cooking in the Aga."
