Stayed here as a family of 5 plus a dog in early August 2023. The house is fairly remote, it's proper single lane roads to get there. But the spectacular views because you're up on a hill are well worth it! The use of the garden area is great and there's a BBQ which we didn't use due to the weather. The fact you're up on a hill means it's quite windy even when the sun is shining. Didn't stop us sitting out on the sun loungers though! The house is split with the owners using the back of the house. The 3 bedrooms are very well sized, each of them en-suite and one is a shower over the bath. All are rainfall showers which is fantastic. There's shampoo, conditioner and shower gel in all the bathrooms, as well as hand wash on all the sinks. As is to be expected with an old building, the floors are uneven and there are plenty of spiders in the corners of the high ceilings, but this didn't bother us. The staircase is very majestic! The polished floors mean that walking around in slippers or bare feet is best because anyone with mobility issues will likely slip. My partner has mobility issues and the bathrooms are quite a trek from the front room so the lack of a ground floor toilet was a very slight negative. The living area is again, beautifully decorated. The kitchen has plenty of utensils and baking trays etc should you wish to cook a big meal. We found the dishwasher didn't clean the pots too well so ended up hand washing pots most days. The sofas are fairly comfortable but we did find a fair few crumbs and bits in the folds of leather between the seats. The WiFi didn't work, but we didn't mention it as an issue because it meant the kids were forced to engage with us! And I must admit that the welcome bottles of wine was probably the highlight of my visit! The hot tub was wonderful. It is situated in front of one of the owners windows, but their curtains were always closed so this wasn't an issue. Plus, there are towels and robes provided to use. The view whilst sitting in the tub was just spectacular! There are a bunch of leaflets and recommendations from the owner about places to visit. We had some wonderful days out in surrounding towns, despite our sat nav wanting to continually avoid the main roads and take us down dirt tracks! Would recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It is very traditional with lovely decor and comfy beds and pillows. There was an array of cleaning products, kitchen and bathroom wipes, even some shampoo and conditioner to use. Waiting for us was a box of chocolates, some cakes, and a bottle of Asti which we very much enjoyed in the lovely hot tub with spectacular views over the Welsh valley. Even comfy robes that are a good size were provided for the hot tub. Plenty of kitchenware is provided for all your meal needs and a selection of tourist leaflets for things to do. The cottage is on a working farm but surprisingly this does not affect how peaceful and relaxing it is. We happily walked around the farm with no issue and strolled up the country lane for some more spectacular views. Location was perfect! The lovely village of Welshpool is about a 10 minute drive down the long country road, just look out for pheasants that seem to run towards your car, not away! lol. Highly recommend a trip on the Light railway which goes between Welshpool and Llanfair, and the Royal Oak hotel and Raven pub have great food :) A little further out but a must is lake Vrnwy where you can walk across the long bridge and enjoy the views, hire bikes, Kayake, paddle board, or just chill with an ice cream.

I recently visited for a 4-night stay with my family and the grandparents - this beautiful house is a listed building with all the charm you'd expect - old wooden beams and floors, beautiful windows and a wood burner stove. The amenities are clean and modern, with a lovely kitchen and breakfast bar, and each room has its own ensuite bathroom (and TV!) - ideal if you're going away with other families/friends. The highlight for me was the hot tub and sunken garden/bbq area. The view across the valley from the decking was breathtaking, and from the tub you could watch the house Martins nesting in the eaves feeding their babies! The house is located in a very rural area, on a working dairy farm, and Welshpool is less than 15 mins away for essentials and supermarkets. The nearest neighbour is Powis Castle - a great day out in itself. The hosts were so friendly and welcoming, and we were greeted to afternoon tea with scones, strawberries, tea & coffee, milk and two (!) bottles of wine. Anything we needed we could just call through using the bell in the kitchen, and they were prompt to respond. They live in the back part of the house and there are locked adjoining doors, but we had complete peace and privacy. I'd highly recommend a visit here, you won't be disappointed.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Trefnant hall in June. If you want a quiet getaway then this is def the place to be. Sitting in the hot tub looking out at the beautiful countryside was so relaxing and even the sound of all the sheep close by added to the ambiance. A lovely touch was the cream tea and bottle of Prosecco that welcomed us when we arrived. Would definitely recommend staying here and would stay there again. If you wanted to go out for day then 10 mins away was lovely town and great pubs for dining out .Even the dogs enjoyed their holiday there too!

      Wonderful
Very friendly welcome and really couldn't do enough to help out when needed. Beautiful little cottage. Our daughter loved seeing the animals on the farm. I absolutely loved being in the hot tub with the cold wind swirling around in the evening.. You really cannot beat Powys Castle and its grounds. It's up there with the top visits in the UK. Nice cafe stop as well. The Royal Oak in Welshpool is a fine place to eat and the staff were incredibly friendly, especially since we had a very active 2 year old with us!
