It is well positioned for the more adventurous travellers as well, with trail walking and cycle routes being so close to suit every ability. With golf, castles, and the Shropshire Hills all available locally, there is endless amounts of activities to choose from.
Forden is in the middle of Welshpool and Montgomery. Montgomery, with its medieval street layout, imposing Town Hall, and mix of Georgian, Victorian, and timber framed buildings, it’s a place where time seems to stand still. Stroll around the local shops offering gifts, fashion and home interiors, or if you’re looking for something of a foodie’s pleasure there are a few lovely independent cafés serving home-made cakes, a delicatessen and a couple of great restaurants.

The location was brilliant, with views across the Severn Valley towards Powys Castle and Welshpool. The living area was comfortable, and the beds were comfortable. There was a little welcome pack on arrival and a lovely hot tub. Just a couple of niggles: the toilet seats kept coming loose, and it could do with a blind at the front door. The fittings for a blind were already there. It would have been 5* if not for the little niggles.

We had an amazing time, the Stables were very clean and tidy, and had everything you could possibly need, it is such a peaceful place to stay, local amenities are approx 3min car journey away, We found lots of places to visit within the area. We both said we would happily book the stables again
