"An excellent barn conversion. Beautifully maintained. All the equipment you could even need. The swimming pool/sauna/jacuzzi area is once more beautiful, a real plus for the property , the pool itself was our primary reason for booking. Hosts are very welcoming and on hand should you have a query. The village location is gorgeous -but somewhat off the beaten track. Lovely and quiet but narrow roads to reach it. We loved Dartmouth which is a few miles South - a picturesque quayside, I really enjoyed trying to crab, but the kids got a little bored as I was useless! If you like cream teas - I strongly recommend a visit to the tea room next to Dartmouth castle. Another fun day out being the Woodlands family fun park just a few miles from the cottage. Our 3 kids (under 8) all loved it. We were one of the last people to leave that day. Slides and soft play galore. I would go back to this area - it is very enticing. Loads of things we didnt have time to do - loads more beaches to explore. Boat rides to have etc."

"We stayed at Buzzard cottage in October 2016. It is a difficult drive to reach there, especially if the weather is wet. The cottage is remote - about 4 miles from the nearest shop and there is no mobile signal. It would have been really helpful to have had Internet access. The cottage is in a beautiful, peaceful setting but if the weather is bad, there is only the TV. A few books, games, puzzles or DVDs would have been useful. On arrival there was a frozen pint of milk in the fridge, tea bags and a packet of biscuits. We were surprised to find that there was no salt & pepper, soap in the bathroom, that kind of thing. The hot water very quickly ran out even after one shower. We did have an enjoyable, restful holiday and the cottage is ideally placed for exploring Dartmoor and South Hams.Probably not great in bad weather with young children."

"A beautiful holiday home with every possible attention to detail met and it far exceeded our expectations. Although both other properties were occupied we had a true sense of having the pool and hot tub to ourselves, a real treat. The owners could not have been more welcoming, and from the moment we arrived we had a real sense of being "on holiday".It is quite a remote location and the single lanes could be a problem for a non confident driver, and it's wise to do a good shop before you arrive, we ordered a Chinese from the Dynasty on our first night which was delivered to the door, we did a stock up in Totnes the next day and didn't need to visit a supermarket again.Highly recommended, the wi-fi was an added bonus for our teenage daughter!"

"Ashwell Court is a marvellous place which really feels like home.Seven bedrooms and three living rooms , all nicely and tastefully equipped, providedenough space für our party of 14. All open fire places were working well, so we could lounge in different groups in an all warm and cosy atmosphere. All electricity and the showers in the bathrooms were working well, and tha AGA in the dining room kelped to keep some of the large amounts of food warm, which has to be cooked for a party of 14. 12 of our party were hungry teenagers...And on one day, when the kids had the choice to either go shopping in Exeter (and they all love shopping!) or to stay in the house, they went for the house! So you can see: They really loved it!"

"We had a superb time. So much space! The house is wonderfully individual and the grounds are delightful, the quietness of the countryside was a real treat. The tennis court was very popular, especially with the 4 younger grandchildren, we made good use of the patio area on several evenings and the barbecue was put to good use too. My own favourite spot was sitting by the lake watching the fish and the other wildlife, especially in the early morning. We were all impressed with the wide selection of things provided in the house to help guests enjoy a good holiday - 2 tv's, books, games, dvd's etc. As it happened, we made little use of these as the weather was so good but had it rained we would not have been bored!"
