Lovely place to stay, especially for larger groups and families.
All facilities were present, as mentioned although it would have been nice to have had a coffee machine as we had to bring our own with us. Very spacious and comfortable. Quality fixtures and fittings and a lovely sunny garden to sit out in the sunshine that finally arrived whilst we were there! Only gripe was that the garden table and chairs were covered in moss and seagull droppings so we had to clean all this off before we could sit out. Maybe a cover over the table and chairs might help? Loved the layout and location. Thanks for a wonderful stay. Not my usual experience with Sykes as the booking agent this time, however. Our first choice property that was booked was cancelled at short notice due to storm damage which was understood but I had to find my own replacement property as the properties that were suggested by Sykes were not suitable at all for our party. I asked from the outset if we could have an early and late check in and checkout where we eventually booked but found that I had to ring on the actual day to find out, despite the property being empty before and after. What made it more infuriating was that I had to wait ages on the phone for anyone to answer despite being told I would get straight through and return calls that were promised to give me information were not always made to me. I'm not sure why the service with Sykes has changed. I appreciate it's a busy time but I thought Sykes was ready for that?

Overall the cottage was very charming and well equipped. The Chinese just up the road was lovely and the short drive to Lowestoft was perfect. You are only a couple of minutes drive from a Morrisons and an Aldi too which is helpful. Although the cottage itself was quirky and decorated nicely, on arrival we did not feel that the cottage was particularly clean. This was disappointing as we were not able to access the property till 4pm so that it could be made ready. A welcome bag had been left with a few snacks which was a nice touch, however we could not find any information or a welcome pack. Eventually we found one under the coffee table which gave very outdated information. For instance it made reference to a cabin with games and TV which is obviously not there anymore. One of the biggest issues we had was the drainage smell coming from the bathroom when the taps were running, it was almost unbearable. We do appreciate that the cottage is old but it really did put a bit of a damper on our experience as every time you wanted a shower you were hit with the awful smell. Apart from this the cottage was big and we did have a nice week however for the money we paid we were disappointed. Hopefully these issues can be rectified in time for the new guests as the cottage itself could be a really nice space.

We booked this cottage over Christmas to celebrate a special birthday with the family. Our group consisted of 7 adults and 5 children. The cottage was lovely and spacious with 2 large reception rooms and open plan kitchen/ dining room. It was warm and comfortable with gorgeous views and countryside walks locally. The kitchen was well equipped, just lacking a few basics such as covered dishes suitable for the oven. Also there were not enough chairs for us all to sit round the table. The utility room was large and ideal for muddy boots and coats. The bedrooms were comfortable although the master bedroom had no shaver point or mirror to use when drying your hair. One of the blinds in the main lounge was faulty and could not be let down. In several of the bedrooms and the bathroom on the ground floor there were loads of dead ladybirds and flies in the folds of the roller blinds.Having said all that we had a lovely stay at Foxhole Cottage and thoroughly enjoyed our time away and would recommend this property.Suffolk Hideaway were good at answering any questions and were very helpful in allowing us into the cottage early.

This property is well located giving a very quiet and peaceful ambience to a stay.
The rooms are extremely spacious and well decorated and furnished. The grounds are attractive and well kept. However, a few things need urgent attention by the owner :-. 1. There is no handrail on the steep staircase which contravenes current Building Regulations. 2. The pull switch for the bathroom light is incredibly, positioned BEHIND the door, which has to be opened fully to reach it - this can be hazardous. 3. There was a serious house-fly infestation in the main bedroom which rendered it unusable, although being just a couple, we used the second bedroom. My last grumble concerns the locked connecting door in the lounge between the adjoining house. Much noise can be heard through this door when the other occupants are using their entrance hallway or kitchen, which abuts the doorway. Bricking it up would seem the only answer here. It's a shame that these problems have marred what is a very fine restored farmhouse, but we did enjoy the stay which was blessed with unusually good October weather. Regards Michael P Keen

We were lucky to be the first people renting this property.
It really did exceed our expectations - the online photos don't do it justice. It was beautiful inside and outside. The house was thoughtfully furnished and equipped (perhaps consider adding a cafetiere). We loved sitting in the yard with the sunset in the evenings, with a seriously good and restful view. We enjoyed local walks and appreciated the suggestions for local amenities in the folder. We left a note recommending the pub at Sibton for eating but also enjoyed other places in Peasenhall and Yoxford. The property is also well placed for visiting elsewhere, e.g. Snape Maltings. We were lucky to be sole occupiers for a week. Perhaps the communal back yard might not always work if two sets of occupants both want privacy. Also, other people might be irritated by our dog! We couldn't find instructions about putting bin out and recycling in the folder. The owners responded amazingly quickly when there was an issue. Overall, a great stay - thank you
