"What a lovely place to stay! We found a little welcome pack for us which was very welcome and treats for the dog as well! The cottage is very comfy and well equipped with oven, hob and washing machine, with tumble dryers also available if needed. The cottages swimming pool is excellent too, the kids and I loved it was like getting into a big warm bath and had a good few hours playing and soaking in there! Throw a slide and hot tub in the mix and it’s a great addition to the cottage. We spoke with Jacqui the owner when we got there, who was very friendly and told us of some good places to eat etc and that was very useful! The cottage is in a very peaceful place which would be great for walking dogs etc but also good to escape for some peace and quiet for a bit if that’s what you want. It’s also close, very close - as in less than 10 mins drive to Sandbach and Congleton - where you can find food a plenty with everything from Chinese to Indian to fish and chips and pizza. We know, we tried several of them! A little further afield is Crewe where you can find things like Nando’s and Frankie and Bennys. It’s also very close to the Peak District where we spent several days walking near Bakewell and Buxton. There is so much to do you will be spoiled for choice. The Peaks can be a bit of a drive though so be prepared to travel a little bit to find the best if you go that way. Overall a great place to visit and stay, and if we go back that way one day would gladly look to rebook and go again."

"This was our first time booking with Sykes cottages. We stayed in laurel cottage which is one of 2 cottages run by the owners jacqui and mark. They are very nice and helpful. Check in was very easy and there was a welcome basket on arrival which was nice. The 2 cottages have shared use of the pool and hot tub area which is a really fabulous space just perfect for us and our little boy who loved sitting and splashing in the warm pool and watching people splashing in from the very fun slide! The cottage itself was quite basic and small which suited our needs and is ideally located for visiting the surrounding areas of the Peak District. There were a few things that would have made this cottage better. Unfortunately, the WiFi never worked for us. We had adequate 4g so managed. There were also a few touches which would have helped it feel more like a home away from home eg more pictures on the walls, slightly more equipment in the kitchen (no corkscrew, sieve, colander, scales, whisk, mixing bowl or airer for inside use). Having said this however, on contacting jacqui, she was very quick to help in any way and provide us with what we needed. I think to make best use of this cottage, I would recommend booking both together with family/friends in order to maximise time spent in the best feature which is the hot tub/pool area."

"From the start Jacky was so helpful with our booking nothing was too much trouble that we knew we that we would be in good hands. Upon arrival our cottages they were so clean it almost brand new, the grounds around were so well kept that there is clear attention to detail and everywhere is so clean. The photographs of the pool and Jacuzzi do not do it justice it is simply one of the best places to relax and unwind. The owners Jacky and Mark have such local knowledge that finding a great restaurant every evening was a breeze. From the start our expectations were exceeded and we can't thank Jacky enough for all her help what a gem in the Cheshire countryside. I must point out that we booked both Laurel and Primrose cottages which suited out large party of adults and children. A real credit to Jackie and Mark we will definitely be back we all throughly enjoyed or stay thank you so much for your amazing hospitality that really did exceed expectations."

"We booked this cottage for a relaxing week away with our two little dogs for birthday celebrations. Our booking was handled professionally and everything ran smoothly. We received a warm welcome from Jacqui who showed us around the cottage and explained the working of the pool and hot tub and some of the local places to visit. She was really friendly and put us and our dogs at ease and the wine bread were nice touches. We had a fantastic time here with everything we needed. We really enjoyed the private pool and hot tub to relax and unwind after our days out. This would also be great if you have children who like to spend time in the pool whilst you unwind and can keep an eye on them. There’s even a slide. There are some really nice pubs restaurants in the surrounding area. The dogs loved the nearby Brereton nature reserve with lovely walks. I would definitely recommend the cottage and we will come back to visit."
