What our customers say about their holidays

    • Mark - Verified booking

We have been traveling to Cornwall for over 30 years, and we are delighted to say that Nappers Cottage is one of the best cottages we have ever stayed in, it is absolutely beautiful throughout.

It is so comfortable to return back to in the evenings in order to relax and unwind after a busy day out sight seeing. The lounge and dinning rooms are very large/spacious, and even though there was only myself and my husband staying with out little dogs, there would be plenty of room for a full family to enjoy without living on top of each other. The kitchen is one of the best equipped I have seen, with an extensive range of pots, pans, crockery, utensils etc, there is a large fridge freezer for all your provisions, and an extensive selection of dogs bowls etc, Steve has organised everything beautifully and though of everything that you might need. The bedrooms are spacious, with lovely bedding, and the beds are so comfortable to sleep on. The bathroom is very large with an amazing large bath tub, and large separate shower cubicle. There is a large front garden which is shingled, and a patio back garden with tables and chairs. There is also plenty of parking outside on the roads, which were quiet for the majority of the time, with only the occasional car passing, so a very quiet location. Steve the owner was so helpful and always on hand if we needed anything, very easy and quick to contact/respond if required. We would not hesitate to return again, and or recommend to family and friends, what an absolutely lovely stay at Nappers cottage.

Wonderful property, just what we needed for our party for our daughter's wedding!

She stayed with us and left from there on the wedding morning looking gorgeous! One bathroom between 6 was sometimes challenging but we knew each other well enough that used the ensuite bathroom as second one for anyone. Gas BBQ worked a treat. Though we had no times for games, a comment in guest book alerted us to the amazing boardgames, etc. in the table in the living room - maybe highlight that much more clearly for future guests? Both toilets just occasionally continued flushing for a long time; I lifted lid of cistern of one and managed to do something (not sure what!) to stop it happening. One pint glass broken but able to let owner know - disposed of it in domestic waste wheelie bin. The recycling bag not quite able to hold all the recycling we generated. We chose the property as my husband is disabled and the access to the large ensuite bedroom via the French windows was fantastic. There is a tiny step into the ensuite bathroom and 2 steps up to the kitchen but with help he was fine. Otherwise, the downstairs is on one level, with wide doors and passageways. From the listing's wording, it wasn't too clear which bedrooms upstairs and downstairs had option of twin beds. Local 24-hour garage 2 minutes away had a very useful shop. All in all, a marvellous place to stay, have left us with happy memories, thank you! Would highly recommend it.

Well presented cottage with a good level of amenities including a well equipped kitchen.

Great quality beds and showers, very comfortable. We visited to spend time with family who live in the village but also had nice days out. No issues parking for us, also used the great bus service and trains from Redruth. Couple of minor issues, the addition of a handrail on the stairs would be helpful , especially for night time trips to the downstairs loo. Sleep was often broken by the church bells opposite chiming every hour, as lovely as they are, it took me a full week to adjust to them . Having some recycling bags to put out with the rubbish would also be good. I bought some smaller mugs (left them there for others) as the gorgeous ones supplied were too much for myself and mother in law. The vacuum cleaner was very smelly when I tried using it, the bag was full to bursting , with no other bags supplied. We also found on our first morning that both bathroom sinks and the wet room drain were blocked so they didn't drain. I couldn't understand how cleaners had not noticed this ? Cleared them and purchased drain unblockers which seemed to do the job. We have stayed in a few cottages in the village over the years and this is by far the nicest .

The Threshing barn is set in a lovely village location perfect for anyone wanting a peaceful holiday. It is about 20 minutes to Truro and Falmouth and also to Porthtowan beach, where you can book surfing lessons and there are cafes/restaurants, beach shops and toilets. As a family of 4 (children aged 15 and 12) the size of the barn was ideal and with 2 bathrooms there were no arguments! I would suggest some hooks to be added in the bathrooms for dressing gowns/ towels to be hung. There were plenty of coat hangers in the wardrobes. Beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well-equipped!The outside space is lovely and well-maintained, the patio area has seating and a BBQ - unfortunately the weather didn't permit us to enjoy the outdoor area! There is also two car spaces and a games room with a table tennis table, this area is shared with the cottage on the grounds. We had an issue with the oven the day after we arrived and customer services were very efficient and it was sorted the next working day and It didn't stop us from having a wonderful holiday at the Threshing Barn.

For a start the holiday cottages were well sign posted!

Cottage was spotelsless and some biscuits for our dog and cake tea coffee etc was a nice touch on arrival. Everything you need was there. Although the air conditioning took a bit of working out it was a great addition and would cool or heat the cottage up very quickly. There was a walking area for my dog and lots of thought has gone into this site including outside showers for humand and dogs!!!!! Maintenance guys were very friendly and helpful. The swimming pool saunas and hot tubs are a genuis addition which is why we chose these cottages. Nice and warm too ! Again very well maintained and very clean. Ample parking even if you cant park outside your own accommodation and literally only a minute away. Struggled to find any negatives too be honest. The saunas etc are open at 8.30am to 6pm and if they could open a little bit earlier and a little bit later that would be really useful but thats just based on us. Would definitely stay again and looking to bring the family back later in the year.
