You approach on a narrow road with no passing places, I imaging in summer this would be pot luck to whether you'd meet another car and have a 500m reverse or not!

One parking space on an incline, which was often parked in by others. Outdoor decking is dirty, covered in debris which has not been cleaned since autumn. The banister on the desking is rotten and would probably snap if you were to lean on it. The chairs and table outside (on both decks) are dirty and rusty. Windows are filthy, both internal (covered in previous dogs slaver) and externally. Moving into the property, sofas are damaged and worn, general cleanliness is shocking - large clumps of previous dog hair, dirty/dusty skirtings, marks on walls and furniture, sand on floors, stairs carpet dirty and stained. TV in main lounge does not pick up most channels - had to change remote batteries. In kitchen ceiling spot lights not working, fridge has a damaged seal so struggles to cool, oven has had all symbols rubbed away so difficult to use. Kitchen window and blind are filthy, kitchen door handle broken. Outdoor area to rear was covered in leaves, twigs and general mess. Door leading to this area had a broken handle. Hot tub cover was covered in bird mess... luxury this area was not! Upstairs, again floors, windows and furniture dirty. Bed was 'okay' I'm not sure its a kingsize though like advertised - two singles pushed together. Main bedroom door handle broken so couldn't close door - balcony out of bedroom glass railing was filthy and seats were rusty. The house in general could do with a good clean and refresh. Overall disappointing!

Everything has been thought of, you can tell straight away how proud Maureen is of the gem she has created for guests to share with her.

As the cottage is called little bear, there are bears absolutely everywhere, the cottage is extremely tastefully created with that bear touch. Maureen left us some scrumptious scones and apples and all around the cottage she left little things for if you forgot them, such as toiletries, washing aids, candles etc. The cottage is perfect if you take a furry friend both the front and back are fully contained. Maureen even left toys and treats, bowls and blankets for our dog so that she would be comfortable and have fun too.The best bit is having a huge field to use to walk the dog right outside our gate. There is just peace and quiet and all you can hear is the occasional car but all the surrounding birds and wildlife. Absolutely loved the massage chair, used it every evening after we had been walking. The back garden has the sun all day long so we were able to have a hot tub in the morning watching the sun rise and in the early evening while the sun left us and the garden twinkled all night allowing for a Christmas party feel to the end of the day. Having the dog we personally found Perranporth beech absolutely amazing and Falmouth was also a joy to walk around. We had an extremely restful and pleasurable stay. Thank you Maureen. We would love to see you again soon, when there is some availability in your fab cottage.

      WHERE DO I START?

Wonderful holiday cottage. Maureen & John (owners) have literally thought of every last tiny little detail which makes it home from home!...from spare brand new tooth brushes in the bathroom, to pens and paper in the kitchen, just every little thing has been thought of. The cottage is absolutely spotless - such a high standard, and so comfortable. The hot tub is incredible, all you can see is Bear Cottage and fields and fields with the patio doors straight in to the bedroom. The cottage is so private with nothing overlooking. We actually booked a week here but left mid-week for 2 days to go and get married, and when we got back the cottage had been decorated with 'Mr & Mrs / just married' bunting, celebration balloons and champagne. We took some wedding cake to Maureen & John and they very kindly invited us in to their home for a cuppa - it felt like we'd been friends for years - so very welcoming!! Location - not far from Truro, but in the little information book there is local take away information / nearest supermarkets etc. Thank you for everything - we will definitely be booking again.

The property was set in a beautiful location, our little one adored the horse, pony, cows, chickens & goats and the view over Argal reservoir was idillic.

The accommodation was well presented, however there were a few general maintenance things we felt needed addressing, such as plugs pulled away from the walls, drawer handles broken, one of the bedside table doors in the twin room was left off, extractor fan needed a good clean in the bathroom, along with some mould build up in the shower; the main bedroom blinds were quite bad for mould too. However with these issues rectified we felt it would be a really lovely place to stay, with that overall the quality of the furniture and facilities to a very high standard, the addition of a cream tea+milk was a nice touch after a really long journey with a toddler in tow, beds were very comfy and we all slept very well each night! The animals were really friendly on the farm - a great factor for kids! Additional on site free bits were a nice bonus - trampoline, pool table etc. Good location - most beaches less than an hour away, local beach 10 mins away was really beautiful too!

This was our third time to Nantrisack and our first stay in Bear Cottage.

The cottage itself is immaculate. There was no dust and considering the cottages are animal friendly we did not even spot a hair. Maureen was fantastic as always, checking in with us on the first day and showing us how the log burner worked. The bed is just amazing. A King size which gave us perfect sleep. The massage chair we were not expecting but I used this each evening and would highly recommend. As well as the cream tea, Maureen left a bottle of wine which went down a treat. The hot tub is good quality and you are not overlooked at all in the garden. Nantrisack itself is an ideal location for exploring Cornwall, everything is just a short drive away. We were not sure what a winter trio to Cornwall was going to be like but we were definitely not disappointed. We are already planning our 4th trip to Nantrisack, the question is returning to a previous cottage or trying another new one! Bear cottage is a contender again!
