What our customers say about their holidays

    • Steven - Verified booking

We stayed at Sandy House for a week from 3-10 August.

We are a family of 5 with 3 under 5, and Maggie the dog. Sandy House is on a small cul-de-sac off a quiet road which means privacy and a minimum of foot and road traffic noises - bliss when you’ve arrived from a town. It also meant that the children could ride their scooters up and down without fear when we were sitting at the front. As soon as we pulled up we were greeted by friendly neighbours on either side, all enjoying the last of the evening’s sunshine. The house was extremely clean, smelled fresh and had everything we needed; Caroline and Quentin had even thought to stock the fridge with the essentials and left a welcome basket of goodies. The living area was large enough to hold our family but not feel like we were on top of each other, helped by the fact that the outdoor area was straight out of the bifold doors. We didn’t use the decking much but with 3 small and active children there wasn’t much chance to sit down anywhere! The kitchen was equipped with everything you could need, again it was all very clean and well look after. We also appreciated the inclusion of smaller sized cutlery and child-friendly crockery. The utility with washing machine and dryer was superb, and well used during the visit. The bunk beds, twin room and double (with en-suite) on the 1st floor were perfect for the family to spread out in. Each beautifully presented, beautifully clean and very welcoming. The enormous family bathroom and landing area was just perfect for bedtime/bathtime routine and the large, fluffy white towels were of good quality and spotless. On the top floor was a further double room with en-suite and the family room, complete with enormous tv, sprawling sofa and a gaming area. We hung out and watched films and listened to the Anglesey weather raging against the windows and even managed a sleep over up there on the last night. Overall we had a thoroughly brilliant time at Sandy House and felt right at home and extremely welcomed. The little touches throughout (the dog bed and bowl, the 1st aid kit/under the sink essentials, the bathrobes, the board games and candles, are just some examples) showed that the owners cared about their home and the environment they were trying to create for their guests during their holiday. I will be recommending Sandy House to my friends and family and on our next visit, we’ll definitely try to book in again. Thank you Caroline and Quentin.

Peter and Louise have thought of everything.

This new holiday home is stylishly and comfortably decorated to a very high standard and you will find plenty of good quality, crockery, glassware and cookware. My husband was very pleased to see large wine glasses!! The house is spacious, bright and clean. The house connected is also rented out but, all other homes are are lived in permanently or second homes. All neighbours were friendly and most sit out at the front to catch the last sunshine of the day and we were given a warm welcome. The beds were very comfortable and the linen of a high standard. The water power and constant supply of hot water was great. During our stay communication from Peter was excellent advising us that the grass was being cut and would that be convenient and during a short power cut in the local area he kept us up to date (the house had candles and matches to light them and the gas hob so we could still prepare dinner) The location is good to, ample parking and within easy walking distance to one of our favourites, The Oyster Catcher and just a 5 minute driving into Rhosneigr. Its easy to jump on the main roads from the house also to visit other areas of the island. If you know Rhosneigr, you'll know that the RAF base - Valley does to regular test flights of the jets but, these are no earlier than 8.30am and later than 5/6 ish. Its a real spectacle when they fly overhead so we enjoyed the view even if a little loud! The one thing to be aware of with this lovely holiday home is that there is an active train track right behind the garden fence. We were unsure on our first evening what the noise was but soon figured it out. The trains do pass quite frequently but the noise is short lived and tbh we were out enjoying ourselves most of the time. You hear the trains mainly in the back of the house. We are looking to return to this holiday home next year and would recommend to our friends.

We are just on our way home after staying at Seaview.

My husband and I and our 17 month old dog have had an amazing time. The property is situated in a quiet close. We found it extremely clean and tidy. It was stocked with everything we needed from ample loo rolls, dishwasher tablets, washing pods, washing up liquid to small toiletries such as shower gel and shampoo. It’s a light and airy property with a very secure garden area. The property is situated within walking distance to the Oyster Catcher (a lovely relaxed cafe and restaurant) a fab beach and Rhosneigr. There is a small convenience shop less than 5 minutes walk away. There is some road, train and plane noise especially if the weather is hot and you have the windows open but honestly this does NOT really cause any inconvenience. In fact it’s fascinating watching the RAF fighter planes when they come overhead. We found the whole area fabulous in respect of having a dog as the beaches were dog friendly and the cafe’s and restaurants allow dogs too. Getting back to the property the owners were even kind enough to provide two dog bowls for their doggie guests. Plus we received a lovely welcome card and some wine as a welcome gift. I can’t rate this property highly enough and have no hesitation in recommending it.

Sea View is a lovely, modern property, tastefully decorated and furnished to a high standard.

Everything has been thought of by Peter and Louise - the owners, who have gone the extra mile to make your stay as pleasant as possible. A nice touch was a personalised Welcome card and wine, which was greatly appreciated and went down very well on arrival. Peter even emailed to Welcome us to their home from home. The living room/ kitchen is fully stocked. All crockery, cooking utensils and cutlery look new. The beds are comfy and bathrooms are sparkling and tidy and the whole house smelt fresh and clean. Sea View is ideally located for exploring Anglesey and is only a short walk to the beach and the highly rated Oyster Catcher, which became a favourite for ‘Sundowners’ on the upper veranda after a day on the beach. The town of Rhosneigr, with its host of coffee shops and restaurants, is just a bit further on. There are more fantastic beaches, coves and pubs to visit all along the west coast. Can’t recommend this property highly enough. We will definitely look to book again in the near future.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sea View.

We didn’t see or meet the Owners however they made us feel welcome with a handwritten card and wine. salt n pepper, dishwasher tablets in the cupboard though we did bring our own. Washing machine came in useful having two Grandkids on a wet & windy beaches during the day. Beds are very comfortable, lovely showers and artificial grass in the garden helped in a wet week. We did lose a football over the back fence which you cannot access due to the railway line. Trains are intrusive. There is a stretch of beach is a 3 minute drive which you can walk too through the fields. When the tide is out you can walk along in to Rhosneigr. A continuous roadside path takes you to the Oyster Catcher, the beef roast dinner is glorious and the Grandkids loved the mussels, definitely worth a visit. If I was to stay by myself with the dog I would feel very safe. Highly recommend Sea View.
