"The cottage is beautiful internally with an unusual, quirky layout inside which we also enjoyed. There was plenty of space for two couples to spend time together but also to have space apart when required. The kitchen Aga is a challenge to say the least and we found the kitchen to be quite poorly equipped with utensils. There was no information pack to explain local facilities, days to put out the bins etc. although an instruction manual for the Aga was provided and the caretaker made contact upon arrival to explain how to operate the Aga.We also received a welcome basket of wine, tea, bread and milk, etc. Unfortunately, due to dietary requirements, some of these items could not be used but it was a nice gesture on the part of the caretaker which was appreciated. Two weeks prior to our holiday, we received a 'courtesy call' from the booking agency to inform us that a soakaway was being built in a field well away from the cottage and there may be some minor noise disturbance between 9am -5pm.This was not the case at all - a holiday lodge was being built in the actual grounds of the property, approximately 20 feet away from the cottage! The soakaway had already been built and workmen were on site most days from 8am fitting the lodge kitchen. Obviously this was not the fault of the builders personally but they made a fair amount of noise walking repeatedly across the gravel under a bedroom window, chatting and playing music/radio and using power tools. This was not the ''get away from it all, relaxing and stress free environment we had hoped for and feel we were very much mislead about the building work. However, we made the best of our holiday and the cottage is located in a very central and convenient location to reach all corners of the county."

"If you want to be able to walk to 3 amazing beaches, all within 20 minutes from your door this is the place for you. The best meal I have ever had at a pub, The Smugglers Den is a 10 minute walk down a public footpath. It is across a field so you will need a torch and is everything in atmosphere you would expect from a Cornish pub but you will need to book and ask for a table by the amazing log burner. The cottage itself is quaint and typically Cornish. The owner was very nice and keeps it very clean and it contains all the facilities you need for an enjoyable holiday. The only reason I gave it 9 instead of 10 was because the shower is poor but I suspect that is a water pressure problem which cannot be overcome. However once I had my bath at night there was no hot water until the next day for anyone else. Downstairs there is a fabulous gadget under the sink which produces instant boiling water so my hubby just supplemented his bath water with two bowls - problem overcome. We enjoyed sitting outside the front with our cup of tea each morning chatting to the friendly locals. The village shop is very close and open from 8am to 8pm. Try their hot Cornish pasties. Disappointed that the fish and chip shop was closed until next season and the pub in the village empty and up for sale. Unfortunately that also applied to shops and pubs in Hollywell Bay. Easy travelling to Port Isaac (doc Martin) and Bedruithen Steps but area so beautiful didn't feel need to travel any further. Probably best holiday choice I have ever made particularly because we took our dog and he thought he was in heaven on glorious empty beaches and sand dunes. I am sure there are more dogs in Cornwall than people!"

"We have just returned from a week staying at the cottage over the New Year and wish we were able to stay longer. This place is fascinating and you can see the history of the property in all the corners of the rooms as changes have been made over the years - and it is very much the quintessential thatched cottage. We were accompanied by our dogs on the holiday, and this cottage is superb for them (I'll mention the garden later) as there are stone or wooden floors over nearly all the ground floor and a very handy utility room with direct access to the outside for cleaning muddy paws. The cottage is lovely and warm, the oil fired heating really pumps out some heat and in end we didn't need to light up the wood burner. The cottage has two sitting rooms, (one with TV, one without) and it was nice to sit down and enjoy the place without the call of the gogglebox. We used the master bedroom in the main part of the house, which was very comfortable with a good bed and linen. The cottage has everything you need from kitchen utensils to tumble dryer. And to top all of this off is the huge garden, which even in winter was a real treat (the dogs wants to stay there!) but in better weather I am not sure you would need to leave the cottage for anything! This cottage is packed with history and character but still provides comfortable and flexible accommodation and is a great base to explore the beauty of Cornwall."

"We enjoyed our stay at Churchtown cottage its a lovely property. The enclosed area at the rear was great for the child and the dog. Could have done with a tumble dryer as having a child we needed to do washing and the weather wasn't good everyday plus the washing line was very small. Having only one bathroom was difficult at times, could really do with having another WC fitted - perhaps downstairs? Tried to use the vacuum cleaner but it kept cutting out so I felt bad not having vacuumed prior to leaving but couldn't be helped. Spare bed linen and additional towels would have been appreciated. We went and purchased additional towels for ourselves. The allocated parking for the Cottage was a bit tricky as there was not enough room to open the car door to get out on both sides. We had a child and a dog with us so it was difficult especially as you cannot park at the front of the cottage and the car park opposite was always full often making it difficult to turn into our raised allocated parking space but we managed. The next door neighbour was lovely and very friendly. Hope these comments are helpful to other potential guests. Overall we had a lovely time and would recommend to others."

"Located about a 5-10 minute stroll into Perranporth with parking for two cars, Mellow Cottage was in an excellent location. Turn left out of the house to the top of the cliffs with a panoramic view of the beautiful beach, or right for access to the shops/restaurants in the town. Short, steep uphill walk from town but not enough to cause a concern. At the end of the road was a bus stop that takes you to St Agnes and Truro which was handy for walks and sightseeing. The kitchen was well stocked, the bedrooms lovely and having a second toilet upstairs was definitely a bonus with teenage boys in the house! Arriving after a long drive it was lovely to see milk, apple juice and cold water in the fridge plus biscuits/fudge to enjoy. Really thoughtful. I would definitely return as Perranporth is a smashing beachside town and the house location meant not having to use the car."
