What our customers are saying about our Holiday Cottages With Open Fires In Oxfordshire To Rent.

"The cottage was lovely especially the spacious beamed living/dining area. The double bed was extremely comfortable, in fact one of the best I've ever slept in. The interiors of two of the kitchen cupboards needed cleaning and there were a few cobwebs in corners but otherwise it was neat and tidy. A plastic chopping board would be a good idea as the glass one was not at all practical. The wood-burning stove was very welcome. There weren't any leaflets for local attractions as you would expect to find, only a list which was very inaccurate as far as the distance to Oxford is concerned. It was given as 35.4 miles whereas it's actually about 15 miles away and one of the main reasons for booking the cottage!"

"As a group of eight friends we enjoyed our stay at the comfortable four bed converted barn. One of 3 in the conversion. There are no amenities within easy walking distance especially in the winter but excellently positioned as a base to explore the many attractions of the area. Oxford and Newbury are les than 30 min drive and Wantage only a short drive away. One negative in the property is the WiFi. No broadband - only a 4G link which didn’t allow connection to a server, so if internet access is essential to a business person, this is not for you. Also, if you are a family with kids, there is only one tv to fight over! We would recommend this property and would definitely stay again if in the area."

"The cottage itself was just as we expected in terms of the facilities, with a superb welcome pack waiting for us. We were disappointed on the day of our arrival when frost was expected and occurred, that the heating had not been turned up more than just back ground - after a day of increasied settings, mastering the wood burner and buying a hot water bottle we were more comfortable! It should be pointed out that a couple of the bottom stairs are angled downwards which makes negotiating the bottom turn a challenge. We felt safer by holding on to the lintel above, but someone less agile might find it a bit awkward."

"We had a lovely stay but I was surprised to not to hear from the owner before our arrival. We had to, in fact, call them as there was a problem with opening the door. A comprehensive list of how things worked, local shops in vicinity, pubs that are child/dog friendly etc. would have been very useful. We felt we were left floundering a little and if we hadn't spoken to owner re access to property wouldn't have known much about facilities both within the cottage and in local area. I appreciate that this property is new on your books and these comments are only meant in a constructive way. The cottage is lovely."

"Rose Cottage, Chadlington, is beautifully situated and could be an ideal place to take a short break. However, our 3 night stay was marred by a number of inconveniences: (1) none of the beds had been made up (2) the requested travel cot was not on site (3) the pre-set heating was set too low for the season and the house was very cold when we arrived (4) the bedding was of poor quality (5) numerous light bulbs were missing (6) there was no chopping board or large cafetière in the kitchen and no hairdryer. Contact with the owner resulted in an apology for some but not all of these points."
