"Lovely little village. New farm shop 2 miles away which is great. Owners quick to respond and had kindly agreed to us arriving earlier ( 1.15) if we needed too.Cottage...Bathroom in need of an overhaul. Not able to use bath due to faulty hot water tap ( no water coming out). Strong unpleasent smell of urine coming from around toilet floor which could not be missed. Owners made aware of smell and problem with bath straight away ( not sure how the problems were missed by cleaner or owners when they were there just prior to our arrival) They came round promptly to try and fix but could not. They did not want to inconvenience us with a plumber coming out during our stay. Whilst they did come out and we agreed to no plumber, it did spoil the stay. Owners have arranged for tap to be mended and the flooring is to be changed. It would have been nice if a gesture of goodwill had been offered to acknowledge the inconvenice. Owners are friendly. They are making improvmemts. Wood burner in lounge is nice and warm. Although it does say that fuel and electric ( electric radiators and oven) is provided, you need to supply own logs and coal etc. Best get from farm shop. Garden is lovely and had the weather allowed we would have enjoyed sitting out in it. Would we stay again ? No. We booked last minute so choice was limited. Not fault of owners. Owners very quick to respond and are keen to make sure work is done."

"Stayed with my elderly mum in March the week after severe snow had cut off the area. Had to go a day late due to the village being inaccessible the Saturday but the owners offered us the option of staying a day longer, though we could not take it up due to a long drive back and work. Cottage is very spacious esp for 2 of us! It was nice and warm with the central heating and though we did light the wood stove a couple of nights it was more for pleasure. Bed in double room was extremely comfortable and as I have spinal problems this was such a plus. I took note of the make of mattress and am going to look at one for my Home bed! The only thing we would have liked was a bigger television with a better sound. Being a very large and echoing room the TV is really too small and the sound disappears and echos so is not clear, esp for my elderly mum with a hearing aid. Even on full volume we found it very difficult to watch a film. This is not a problem in the summer when you don’t watch the Tv but we had a wet, chilly week!"

"We did expect more space for the money plus a much better furniture. As we missed our ferry from France we tried several times to contact by phone the number indicated that we would arrive 1 day later. Upon arrival in Portmouth late in the evening next day we tried again in vain. We thought it would be too risky to find the keys plus house very late at night, we made another stopover in a hotel, misssing the 2nd night we paid for.We counted on the restaurant on siteon the other days but found it closed .There we not towels at all available and we had to ask for them the next morning. We were not used from other rentals to be charged for electricity, which was another 26 p.st. for 5 evenings. The small road to the holiday site was ok in November, however we do not dare to think what might happen during the holiday season. However the place as such with the lake is lovely , but from former rentals we did expect more from the cottage"

"Lovely cottage, clean and very comfortable, extremely well equipped, our hosts had thought of everything and gave us a very warm welcome upon arrival. The welcome gift was a lovely touch! The games room was a very welcome addition - our children loved it. The local village has a well supplied shop (with an extensive takeaway menu) and the local pub does great food. Whilst the cottage and setting were lovely we found it a bit too remote - we spent a lot of time in the car and even had to drive to the local village - the road there was just too long and steep for my mum and a bit too dark and lonely to be comfortable walking along in the evening. Despite this we had a lovely week and would definitely recommend this cottage."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage it has all the amenities you could want although as a mum I would have liked a washing machine! It was lovely to sit in the conservatory in the morning and look out onto the gorgeous well kept garden and in the evening with a cold glass of wine. The most local pub is the crows nest Inn & we enjoyed a couple of very nice meals there it is about a 20 minute walk from the cottage. We can also thoroughly recommend Inkies smokehouse at golithafalls which was pretty amazing!!This is a fantastic base to explore this part of Cornwall and such a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of every day life and would highly recommend this cosy cottage."
