This cottage was absolutely fabulous.
Everything as described and more. There is also a washer dryer which was not stated on the website so this was a bonus as I travelled very light with just a cabin bag. Extra items in the cupboards-some clothes washing liquid, washing up liquid, salt.oil-little extras that possibly others left behind. We did the same-it always help the next person staying. Towels and tea towels provided and also a hairdryer, iron and ironing board. hoover and mop etc too so no excuse not to clean up. The cooker took a bit of figuring out so we phoned the owner who is extremely helpful. I'm used to gas rather than electric so it took too much figuring out. Bottle of wine and some milk on our arrival along with a bunch of flowers. Tea and coffee had been left so we could have a much needed cuppa. Back garden very secluded and has washing line. Big pile of leaflets and maps in the lounge. We used Jacobite tours for Loch Ness and Happy Tours for a day to Glencoe There is a Wetherspoons in town and a few places with nightly music. I would definitely recommend this accomodation. It was a 15 minute walk into town for an average walker and 20 mins for me as I am a slow plodder. Lidl just up the road-5 mins walk-Aldi on the way to town-10 mins walk Property is easy to find on walking back from town-we walked everywhere. A bit noisy in the front bedroom on a Friday night but that is to be expected in the city. Nothing too bad. Do follow the River Ness on the side of the castle up to the "islands"-it is absolutely beautiful up there. (The sports centre and ice rink in same direction) Bus station in centre of town-costs £4.50 to get from airport to town. We booked a taxi for our return though-£25-just in case that helps anyone.

Great location by the River Ness, a short walk into town with the Ness Islands close by too.
The property is nice and comfortable, we had a good stay and enjoyed our holiday. Having off-road parking is great especially so close to the town itself. My only reservations are as follows. Constructive criticism only and not a big moan. The property is directly off Ness Walk which does mean you have a lot of people walking by. At all times of the day, not great in the early hours of the morning. The property has no freezer. Maybe not essential, but not ideal if you have arrived having popped to the supermarket and bought frozen food. No freezer is listed on the property details but you would take that as a given. Nowhere to hang or dry clothes. There is a washer / dryer included, not all clothes are dryer friendly if you want them the same size as you put them in. The cooker is great once you get it to work. The letting agent must turn off the appliance each time they ready the property for the next visitors. In doing so the fan oven doesnât work. There were no instructions at the property so spent half an hour finding and downloading the cookerâs manual and setting the clock which unlocks the oven. Far from ideal. The property guest book could be more detailed and include additional literature for the surrounding area. Little things. The property lacks the personal touch as managed by an agent rather than directly with the property owner. Ending on a more positive note, Inverness is great and this property is a great base to visit the town and surrounding area.

Tolle, gut ausgestattete Wohnung, zentrumsnah!
Great, well-equipped apartment, close to the city center! The apartment is bright, well equipped and contemporary and offers enough space for a family of four. In the immediate vicinity are various shops (Coop, Lidl, Aldi, B & M), the CIty Center can be reached on foot in just under 15 minutes. In the bedroom with the double bed but should be taken to ensure that only a large (in the UK typical) blanket is available - for Germans rather getting to used! Small drawback: the shower or the fitting of the shower squeaks very loud (it literally shouts), so that everyone in the house notices, if someone takes a shower - could possibly be fixed by the landlord! All in all, the apartment is highly recommended.

A week in Inverness with Witchelm House as our base.
A light and airy house, almost everything you could need. Clean and bright. Comfortable beds. We used the house as a base to travel out from, so didn't spend much time in it, eating out for the most part. Close to the pretty river walks and a pleasant 5 to 15 minute walk to the city centre where most restaurants are situated. A word of warning: if you want to eat out, book your restaurants well ahead of your arrival. All decent restaurants get booked up well ahead. We'd booked well ahead all but 2 nights and we had problems finding somewhere suitable to eat on the 2 unbooked nights. The house is in a built up area close to main roads, but we had almost no noise problems. Parking immediately outside is time limited but a few yards down the road 24hr parking is very easy. 2 large white vans parked illegally outside the house for most of the week, so I don't think parking wardens appear very often! The blinds in the bedrooms were our only issue. I can't sleep unless it's dark. I always bring an eye mask when we go away, just in case, and I was glad I did. If you don't mind a very light bedroom through the night you've no problem. Personally, I'd prefer blackout blinds, but that's just a personal observation. I would recommend this property unreservedly. Thank you!

We arrived 16.
00 on 22nd December. The temperature outdoors was minus 2c. The lodge was cold with heating set at 15c. The listing advised electric fire in the lounge. Despite requesting this from the owners representative this was never delivered. Inverness is in The Highlands and our stay was during the winter period. There is nowhere to hang wet coats, indeed no hangers or rails wardrobe to hang any clothes not even a coat hook. The kitchen is reasonably well equipped but there is no coffee machine. The Aga style cooker has a large extractor hood which is in desperate need of replacement filters that are thick with grease. Overall the central location on the banks of The River Ness and easy access to the town centre was appealing. Newly decorated and comfortable beds, linen and towels. The lounge room however was very cold with one inadequate radiator. Nice touch of artificial Christmas tree also appreciated as our stay was over Christmas time. Would we return no! The owners representative ignored our texts regarding the listed electric fire and clothes hangers.
