"Overall impression was quite poor, maintenance chap was ignorant to the point of being rude, when we eventually got hold of him for an umbrella for our table he turned up and started throwing broken umbrellas about. There was a chemical smell in our second bathroom and as for self catering, it was a bit of a joke, no frying pans no casserole dishes and nothing to use in the microwave, the fridge door felt like it was about to fall off, bulbs blown and not replaced, our patio table was in a dangerous state of repair, as they all were. The Jacuzzi developed a fault so was out of use for the end of our stay. The people in a bigger cottage next door to us booked through a different company and payed a lot less, they got a nice welcome pack, we got nothing, they had a clothes horse, we got a pole with no line? Cleaners left keys in cottages doors after cleaning, as this was not a very secure site probably not the best thing to do with peoples valuables inside. The overall impression was at the whole place was looking tired and needed work carried out, but during our stay we found that a lot of the cottages were up for sale so I don’t think there will be much investment put into them. It’s a shame as it could have been such a great holiday as the location is spot on. Will we return? The answer to that I’m afraid is NO! My Brother in the South of France asked me for details as he wants to stay in Cornwall, I told him not to bother. Yours Faithfully. Brian."

"We absolutely loved Jackdaw cottage, it had absolutely everything you could need on holiday. The beds were very comfortable - I read one review saying the double bed was too small - we are really big people and fit in there just fine. The cottage has a lot of character is a little quirky too. The coffee, tea, milk and cereals were a welcome bonus after such a long journey. As was the premade dog bed - very thoughtful! The area is very quiet and the local shop is excellent and not overpriced. The local pub (The Queens Arms) provided excellent food at a decent price, but the atmosphere was a little drab! The owner of the cottage left us a note with her number if we needed it. A housekeeper called midweek to check all was ok. The only teeny tiny niggle we had was some of the internal dvd players on the tvs did not work, but we just bought an amazon fire stick and used that. If you've never been to the area before Zucchini Italian Restaurant is fantastic and you can get tours around the local RAF base near Helston if you pop into the café there. If taking a dog in high season, be extra vigilant when checking which beaches are "dog friendly" - there were a few online described as such and you cannot take a dog on between March and September. All in all a great place to stay and the cottage was faultless."

"The property is well sited for anyone visiting Cornwall, so long as you can cope with the narrow roads and are prepared to reverse, which some people are not!!The entrance into the driveway is tight but I managed it in a VW Passat which is a long car, once you get into the swing of it, it is easy. Always best to have a look-out/Gate closer posted for when you are pulling out as it is impossible to see and some do not keep to the 20 Mph speed limit. The road is well used and is on a bus route so choose your entry and departure times accordingly and you will not meet them. The local grocers shop is just up the road and is extremely well stocked. The Post Office/Grocers is further away down the hill but is also well stocked especially if you like speciality spirits. The local pub is directly opposite the property but we had no trouble with noise, even when they had a music night the rental is well sound proofed and they do food to eat in or takeaway, very handy after a busy day out. The only thing missing was a hairdrier, which may have been there and someone packed it by mistake(easily done). On the whole a well equipped and comfortable property, we all thouroghly enjoyed it. Thanks."

"The cottage was just the job for two people. Comfortable, reasonably equipped and roomy enough. The place was spotless and the mattress was firm which suited us. The shower was adequate but was tricky to get right and not very powerful. The hotel it is attached to was quite old fashioned which you will either like or not. We didn’t eat there so cannot comment on the food. The surrounding grounds were lovely. The location is quite a bit out of Falmouth but a taxi is less than a tenner and there is a bus 5 minutes walk away. Also 15 minutes away is a great pub. Good food, busy and very friendly. A shop too so what more do you need? This is a good place and I recommend it. If you’re into dogs you can bring them. If you’re not then the slight doggy smell might be slightly off putting. But it went over a couple of days (or we got used to it) so not a show stopper. The price is ok. You get what you pay for and I’d happily repeat the experience. We had a lovely time. Hope this review helps."

"Good location. Well organised site, which provides a very pleasant and relaxing location with excellent walks across the countryside, and only a fifteen minute walk to the two closest beaches. Property was very clean, well laid out and well equipped. The Wifi was a true Wifi and not part of the site provided Wifi, which was a pleasant surprise. We had elderly relatives with us, so the TV was important to them, and it was good to find they could watch what they wanted an not be limited to what the site chose to allow. The only negative observations were that the fridge was very small and the freezer box would not hold an ice cream tub, also the taps would benefit from being quarter turn as our relative with arthritis had a lot of trouble using them."
