"Lovely people running a busy farm. Remember this cottage is right in the heart of the working farm, cow barn full of cows a few feet away from the cottage which we did not mind! Electric heaters and a wood burner for heating which had to be left in all the time to keep the place warm. Heater not working in bathroom so damp and black mold which was not nice and not pleasant to have a bath or shower. Nice touch that they have logs in the garage we can use and nice large log burner. Only down side was the bed very uncomfortable but nice pillows, cold bathroom and the place needed a good clean. ( log burner needed cleaning out before we could use and the cooker was really dirty) (I had to pull the knobs off and give it a good clean) Apart from that it was worth the money we paid for the hire for the week and as I said the owners were very welcoming and nice. If the above Problems were sorted it would be a really nice place to stay. It’s located down a long drive from the village to the farm (about 800 mts)Great views over the village, the rolling hills, blue anchor beach and wales across the sea around 15 miles away. We would book again and hope the problems are addressed. I would say it’s more a 2-3 star not a 4 star.Dunster, blue anchor, exmoor, minehead etc all close so lots to see. I recommend this place for a break."

"This cottage is in a lovely location, and the caretaker seemed nice from the brief conversation I had. Unfortunately the cottage is not only very dated, but also furniture and flooring is very worn and stained in places. I did not realise this cottage accepted dogs, and therefore this may be why the carpet and sofas have not been replaced. The cottage was relatively clean, although the porch did smell of dog and there was quite a lot of dust under beds, cobwebs etc. It is a shame as it could be nice with a small amount of money spent, even to the extent that the duvet covers looked like they were at least 20 years old based on the designs, one was stained and one had a hole in. Why are these not replaced every few years? It would only cost £30 per set, which is tiny compared to the large amount of money they get in over the year from renting it out. It just seems like the owners have spent the absolute minimum they can get away with on this cottage."

"Had a lovely week's stay here from 11/5/18. A delightful cottage (comfy, cosy & clean), fully-equipped & with all mod-cons. Our bed was lovely too & we slept soundly all week. Although the property is part of the farm, it is on the edge of it, round the back & out of the way. Access to it is easy, via a straightforward in & out route through what I have to say is a very clean, tidy & well-ordered farm. During our stay, there was hardly any noise from the farm at all & definitely nothing to disturb us. Most days, in the garden with its terrific view out over the Bristol Channel, all we could hear were birds singing & sheep bleating in the fields around us. Rural bliss! The owners, Andrew & Tracy, are lovely people; very friendly & helpful if required but completely non-intrusive otherwise. All in all, an excellent base from which to explore this lovely part of the world. Would happily return here again."

"We had the most brilliant New Year at The Old Manor! This house is completely unique - a huge gothic, beamed, characterful pile right next to the Dunster steam railway and a short walk into charming Dunster. Each bedroom was very comfortable and 100% clean. Unusually there are lots of bathrooms - which is brilliant when you have a large group. Similarly, the hot water and heating all work perfectly so we were never cold. The kitchen is very well stocked with pots and pans and we really enjoyed cooking each day. There’s a great selection of DVDs and the sauna was great too. The beach is close and we went on lovely a walk in Exmoor. Dunster is very charming and also just a short walk away. We really can’t recommend The Old Manor enough. The owners were extremely kind and responded to messages very quickly. We really look forward to coming back one day!"

"The setting of this accommodation is amazing, the views are lovely and the sun rises right through the front window making it a pleasure to “rise and shine”. It is small with some limitations on equipment so visitors need to accept that it is a bit like camping - little storage, no oven, no proper fridge and no TV. Also there are animals nearby so some country smells and flies although they weren’t so bad during my stay despite the hot weather. The bed was comfy, it was very clean and came with all the other bits and pieces one needs for self catering. It would certainly suit a couple who like to eat out and don’t mind living out of a suitcase. The area and the setting make up for the limitations and its great to see the animals. Peaceful and relaxing for sure."
