"Overall we thought the cottage was good for a party of our size, 4 adults, but would be a bit on the small size for any more. The kitchen was very small & only suitable for 1 person to use at a time. The lounge area with dining table was just adequate but we were constantly having to move the dining chairs around just to get past to the lounge area etc, which proved to be a bit annoying. With 2 more adults, or children, this would be even more difficult. The TV was positioned on a high room wide mantel shelf over the electric room heater. At this height it was difficult to view for anyone sitting on the sofas close to the end wall. The best part were the bedrooms, very large & comfortable & well furnished with very large built-in clothes storage/wardrobes. Bathrooms are small but adequate. The showers were just ok but the water pressure was erratic, running hot & cold as other bathrooms & the kitchen taps were being used.Externally the front enclosed garden area was very good, especially for us with our 3 dogs. Which was the main reason for choosing this cottage. However we did have a problem here on the first night as the lawn had been roughly mown but with the grass clippings left on the lawn. This very quickly became a problem as our dogs, & us, as we cleaned up after them, were walking the grass clippings into the lounge which meant we were constantly having to sweep them up to try to prevent them being walked upstairs into the bedrooms & bathrooms. The next morning we knocked on the owners door to ask if these clippings could be raked up, I even said I would rake them myself if a rake could be provided. I spoke to a young girl who said her mother was still in bed. All that happened was a dustpan & brush, I had also asked for, was left outside the front door but the request itself was totally ignored. We had to endure this problem for the full weekend, there was nobody around to ask on both days. On the Monday we asked the owner again & were somewhat surprised at his manner as all he gave us were a list of his problems as to how busy he was & how his mower box needed welding. He then rather reluctantly said he would get his blower out to remove the clippings, which he did very roughly, leaving them piled against the side fence. This issue came very close to spoiling our whole week. In the same vein we also had to ask for the Games Room, as advertised as being available, to be open as it was full of old furniture & un-useable. The Games Room itself is very poor consisting of a dartboard & a very old, very dirty & rickity Pool table which I had to brush the dust & debris off to use. If the Pool table was in use the dartboard was too close to be safely used. On the Wednesday some new balls & cues suddenly appeared which did not help as the table was so warped it was impossible to have a proper game. I think it pushes the boundary to describe this wooden hut as a "Games Room".Although the swimming pool was advertised as being available & the weather was nice & sunny, we did not think it wise to asked for the pool cover to be removed. In summary, the Pros' are a good location, nice bedrooms & adequate facilities, whereas the Con's are a poor unprofessional attitude from the owners, not the "can do" attitude that successful businesses need to grow & thrive. Also the value for money is also poor, we paid more for this cottage in the low season as we have paid on the previous two years for high season. A work in progress is, I hope, a true description for this business."

"listed as 5 star. It is not 5 star. The building is lovely, the location idyllic , the fittings are substandard for 5 star but the beds were comfy. We have stayed in many 5 star properties and even 4 stars which have been better than this and they have all provided everything we would need right down to the smallest detail like salt and pepper in the larder. After a 9 hour drive we arrived to find we could not even make ourselves a refreshing cup of tea as there were no supplies at all. Unlike an owner last year who even left us a home made cake and a bottle of wine along with eggs bacon bread tea coffee and milk as well as larder basic like sugar salt and pepper. This owner could learn a thing or two about 5 star treatment. The cottage was not furnished as the pictures show. We were a party of eight adults which included two chefs. The kitchen was poorly supplied with pots pans crockery, cutlery and glasses. Barely one of each and mismatched. We had a birthday to celebrate that week and couldn't even set the table for a three course meal. The picture shows an aga and an electric oven. The aga is not there and the oven too small to cook for so many. The bedroom pictures show tv's and curtains. No tv no curtains only a blind which didn't work properly in our room because it was broken a poorly repaired. No curtains in the dining room. The bar area in the lounge was totally unequiped, not a glass or jug or ice bucket to be found. The garden which is wall enclosed is beautiful but the pictures show a table and 8 chairs but in reality there was a large pub bench, fine for eating outside but nowhere to sit and while away a lovely summers day. Luckily we had taken a couple of folding chairs for us older members of the group or we wouldn't have been able to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The bathrooms were lovely except for the bathroom on the landing which smell extremely bad. The bath in the attic bedroom had to be washed before use as it was dirty. There were many cobwebs around the house. Overall I would have to say this cottage is not 5 star. This the highest grade which cannot be improved upon so should be top class in all things, supply all things you could possibly need and have attention to detail. It did not."

"Oh wow what a stunning location! The views are wonderful. Waking up to the sounds of the countryside and watching the antics of the resident House Martins was amazing. The farm house is well equipped, clean and comfortable. Still not sure about the feathered topping on the mattress but thats only because I have never used one. It certainly did not stop me from having a goods night sleep. In fact I have never before slept so well in a strange bed! Loved the granite work inside the house, the fire places and very old wooden doors.Getting a mobile signal is not easy though we found we could get a signal either in the downstairs toilet(!!!) or in the back yard occasionally! Internet connection is also iffy but that happens in these remote places. Actually it was good to be un-glued from my mobile etc. for a week - I really DID have a holiday. Oh, and I saw a shooting star! Big thank you to the owners for our welcome pack i.e. local milk, butter and eggs and for the 'good places to eat' recommendations. The owner will even sort out your dinner on the day of your arrival - how good is that! We had amazing homemade pies and homemade ice cream - so lovely! For those who have dogs - the garden is completely secure (if you have very small dogs i.e. smaller/slimmer than a Jack Russell let the owners know and they will make the gate more secure - our little girl was able to slip through the bars - cheeky wotsit!)."

"We stayed at the Dairy @ Rowhorne farm for a week . Myself , Husband and 4 of our 5 children aged 18 , 13 , 11 & 6 . We always Holiday in the uk 3 times a year and always choose the countryside with living in a built up city of Leeds we love the tranquil surroundings of the countryside . The Dairy’s location and views is absolutely stunning we were not disappointed by anything our Holiday was perfect . The location is ideal quiet , tranquil , close enough to shops to stock up on grocery’s , eat out and take the children out for the day to beaches and Crealy adventure park . The Dairy itself is stunning a really homely , luxury relaxing feel with absolutely everything provided for your stay . The homemade scones , with jam & clotted cream , chocolates , juice and milk along with tea , coffee & sugar was a really lovely welcome . The fresh picked flowers too were so pretty in each bedroom & living room a really lovely thought . We were so sad to leave but thank Angela & Brett for a lovely welcome by them and for a perfect holiday made by them at The Dairy giving us fond memories with our children to cherish forever . We really hope to return soon ."

"The Dairy is situated in an elevated position giving fabulous views over Exeter, Exmouth and Dawlish. We arrived late just before the recent snow arrived. Angela and Brett were there with a very warm welcome and had lit the log fire ready for us. The Dairy is spotlessly clean and has been equipped with every conceivable item to ensure a very comfortable and delightful stay. We enjoyed the freshly baked scones with clotted cream and jam that were provided along with a refreshing bottle of cordial and a box of premium chocolates. There was even fresh ground coffee to use in the coffee machine along with mini bars of chocolate. There was total quietness both during the night and daytime. The owners live in an adjacent property and are on hand should they ever be needed. Due to the inclement weather we experienced there was a threat of potential power failures, and Angela and Brett duly arrived with a supply of candles in the event that this did happen. Brett was out the following morning clearing the build up of snow away from our front door. All in all, this is a fantastic cottage in a fantastic location. We could not have wished for more."
