"The bungalow is wonderfully spacious and was immaculate. A great plus point was the conservatory which was warm even in February when the sun shone on the back garden. We had afternoon tea in there each day. It is situated in the st Helen area of Hastings so some way from the sea front but has the great bonus of on site parking. We walked down to the main area each day through residential streets which were quite run down. The area where the bungalow is situated however is very nice Hastings itself is a bit shabby but the old town is lovely. The new pier is very impressive and the promenade walk wonderful. You can walk miles along it through st Leonard’s to Bexhill on sea which we enjoyed. It was a bit of a struggle at the end of the walk having to climb uphill for 1.5 miles back to the bungalow and it was no small hill. We did find it better to drive to Galley hill about 1 mile from the centre of Bexhill where you can park all day for free on De La Warr Terrace with fabulous views of the sea. You can walk either way for miles on the promenade and it’s perfectly flat, thus avoiding that long walk uphill at the end of the day. The weather the previous week had been very wet so the Hastings nature reserve was a horrendous mud bath. We couldn’t stand upright on some of the paths it was so bad. - what a pity. The bungalow made it a very quiet relaxing break -very enjoyable."

"On the edge of a large housing estate this property was surprisingly quiet & a lovely place to stay. As the owners house is above the property I think we were lucky they were away for the week ensuring we had a greater level of privacy & quiet than might perhaps be the normal case. The property was fine but on arrival there is some incomplete work at the front of the house, also an area of decking on the lower level where work is ongoing - I think these need to be finished off as soon as possible. A very minor critism is that one had to go into the bedroom to get a decent Wi-Fi signal, it barely worked for me in the lounge. Two of our party have very basic Sky packages but this property had far fewer channels (or we failed to find them). However, picture quality was excellent on the terrestial channels & the few others we found. This was fine for us but as there has been a previous negative review relating to Sky perhaps the expectations need to be set a little lower by making it clear which Sky channels are available. We enjoyed our stay, bedrooms, bathrooms & kitchen were excellent, we found the lounge a little cramped but the hot tub was excellent as was the various garden spaces."

"The place was very clean, but there was things that ruined it for me. They are as followZip and link bed was uncomfortable and had feather quilt and pillows, which with asthma is a no no.Hot tub stank of stale water and there was no smell of chlorine, which is strange.Every morning at 7am it sounded like an elephant was upstairs stomping around, had no lie in on holiday as this just woke you up and kept you up.In the kitchen you have all the equipment to bake a cake, but no oven trays. There are different settee's in the place to the pictures, and if there is 4 of you it is very compact. They are uncomfortable and very small. You are in a residential estate and are a very long walk away from shops or pubs, need a car.But the place was clean, you were provided with towels and everything you need to start your holiday. The owners were friendly and kept away all of the holiday, so you cannot complain about that. But despite my complaints we still had a good holiday, so it is not all bad. Just a few things annoyed us."

"The cottage has everything you could possibly need for a self catering property, even board games and a selection of dvds. We were disappointed that the pool was not in use as it should have been available until September, we left on 1st, however the weather was not really suitable for using an outdoor pool. The other minor irritation was the shower it was either scalding hot or freezing. the beach was a lot further than we had anticipated so we elected to drive, good location for visiting Rye, Hastings and Camber Sands and the New Inn serves really good food and has a nice walled garden.we enjoyed our stay but would not return with our grandchildren as it is a very old property with steep stairs and has very little insulation which means you can hear everything which is not great with young children also the bathroom is downstairs. The girls loved there stay but were disappointed about the pool. It would be ideal for me and my husband on our own."

"We stayed at waterside house in September 2015 for 7 nights. We used this amazing property for a family reunion and everyone had a great time. From the minute we drove down the long driveway and saw this very private and huge house on the banks of the reservoir we knew the property was special. All the rooms are huge with ensuites, so everyone had the chance to relax and the many entertaining areas also meant plenty of space for all the family members and kids. The table tennis and croquet sets were a hit with the kids and adults alike! The area is fantastic with lots of activities including quad bike riding, boating, go ape & fishing right out the front door. There are also lots of great pubs with great food in the area, our favourite was the Bull which is a very old pub less than 10 minutes away. We will definitely be back!"
