The medieval town of Rye is also only 7.5 miles away, with independent cafes, shops, and restaurants offering freshly caught seafood. Slightly further afield, visit Bodiam Castle (10 miles), Great Dixter House and Gardens (8 miles), and nearby Hastings (6 miles). Three Oaks train station can connect you to Hastings for travel to Eastbourne and Brighton. Enter this pretty cottage, into a bright and airy lounge/kitchen/diner.
