"The cottage has everything you could possibly need for a self catering property, even board games and a selection of dvds. We were disappointed that the pool was not in use as it should have been available until September, we left on 1st, however the weather was not really suitable for using an outdoor pool. The other minor irritation was the shower it was either scalding hot or freezing. the beach was a lot further than we had anticipated so we elected to drive, good location for visiting Rye, Hastings and Camber Sands and the New Inn serves really good food and has a nice walled garden.we enjoyed our stay but would not return with our grandchildren as it is a very old property with steep stairs and has very little insulation which means you can hear everything which is not great with young children also the bathroom is downstairs. The girls loved there stay but were disappointed about the pool. It would be ideal for me and my husband on our own."

"This is the second time staying at Prideaux ( with one teenage son) and the cleanliness and amenities were second to none. There is now a second toilet within the flat which was very handy. The owner is very accommodating and is on hand should you need anything. There are lots to see and do within the area and you can get to almost anything by bus or train. Once again the weather was excellent. If you are looking for a relaxing place to stay but be within a busy town then Eastbourne is ideal for that. There are lots of different restaurants in town and loads of bars. Going to London is a breeze on the train and is inexpensive if off peak. Hastings and Brighton are just a short trip by train. Although we drove there we parked the car (off street) and only used it twice in a fortnight. The bandstand is a must too with a variety of brass band and tribute acts. All in all a very enjoyable holiday."

"Dolphin Cottage was an absolute delight. Perfectly positioned adjacent to the East Cliff in Hastings and in the old town. The cottage is well equipped and many thanks to the owner for the welcome pack and for meeting us and showing us around. We and our boys (15 and 12) had a fantastic week exploring Hastings and visiting Battle, Brighton, Dover Castle, Rye, Camber and many other other places! The car parking was easy in the public car park 300 yards from the cottage and we never had trouble finding a space even though it was half term week and busy. The location came into its own in the evenings when we would walk out to find somewhere to eat - the restaurant at the pier is great. Would 100% recommend to families or couples looking for a comfortable cottage close to amenities. We hope to return! "

"The Base was an excellent location being right on the seafront at St Leonards. The apartment was surprisingly large, very comfortable and very well equipped. Other reviewers have mentioned damp but it certainly wasn't an issue for us. On street car parking is free but it was difficult to find a space. However, this was not a problem as we just decided to walk everywhere or parked in the public car park nearby. Carol Anne was very welcoming and left us a pint of milk so that we could have a cuppa on arrival after a long journey. Carol Anne also put fresh flowers is the rooms. In the summer, and when the scaffolding comes down I'm sure the front courtyard will be a lovely place to sit. One of the main things for us was that it was dog friendly. Some nice restaurants within walking distance."

"Good accommodation. Host onsite, very approachable and friendly, no issues. Easy, relaxed and helpful when we had a breakage. Very clean and tidy with everything you would want available. Slightly dated decor in some areas, but comfortable rooms and did not detract from overall experience so don't let it put you off as it is more friendly than a modern place. Lounge very comfortable, with thoughtfully provided books and some puzzles which was a lovely touch. Enjoyed the DVD player, wifi slow but functional. I found the bed too firm for my liking, but this is a personal preference.Location is good - pizza place and Waitrose just up the road, short walk to town and on to the pier. Onsite parking."
