      This is an excellent bungalow that was well equipped, especially for an elderly relative with mobility issues. It was clean, comfortable and in a great location to explore the surrounding areas. It also has a secure garden. Opposite is the village hall and a lovely field that was equipped with picnic tables, a small park and was great for exercising our dog. Wells-next-to-the-sea, Walsingham, Sandringham, Burnham Market and Hunstanton are all close by and easily accessible in a car with great bistros and restaurants. A bit further but easily accessible were the seaside towns of Sheringham, Holt and Cromer as well as other smaller but equally lovely beaches and towns. The owner provided lots of information about the area and was extremely thoughtful on our arrival by leaving some staples as well as being easy to communicate with. To eat out we chose The Duck which is in walking distance of the bungalow as well as a lovely bistro in Wells called Bang. We had a really lovely holiday and would certainly recommend this cottage. Thank you for letting us stay.

      A really very impressive building to take in as to come up the drive. Set in beautiful parkland with a fantastic view down to a column and the sea beyond. But the properties main function was to be an entrance arch, so the accommodation was of secondary importance when it was first built. So some aspects are a compromise. Low door heights, very steep, very narrow 32 step, stone spiral stairs. If you have a dog you will probably need to carry them both up and down these steps. The drive through the Arch is a public road, so expect normal road traffic, cyclists and dog walkers to be coming through on a regular basis, which is a bit of a let down if you were expecting privacy. The staff when called upon were superb, special thanks to Gavin for sorting out an issue

      Appreciated the well equipped property and cleanliness inside. There are 2 benches and 2 seats in front garden. One bench had the build up of so much bird poo on it, that it was unusable and very off putting. Whilst it cannot be helped where birds poo lands, it would have been nice if table and seating clean when we got there. Had there been full occupancy there would not have been enough seating as one bench unusable. We would also have appreciated some cushions for outdoor seating for comfort when sitting outside.

      The Triumphal Arch, what a find! This place was stunning and beautifully located. I chose the Arch for my husbands 40th and it did not disappoint. The hamper on arrival was perfect, the decor tasteful and comfortable. We had an open fire going on our last night while we ate dinner and sipped Prosecco. We watched the sunset while the cows wondered near by. And we made the most of Holkham estate, walking, cycling and site seeing. We came home completely replenished. We would highly recommend.

      This is a very interesting and surprisingly spacious property ideal for a quirky getaway on the beautiful Holkham Estate. It’s a stunning location if you want to walk and explore the surrounding coast and countryside, It’s worth taking note regarding the spiral stone staircase which is steep and wouldn’t be ideal if you’re less mobile, (or if you’re dog isn’t agile) also we did experience the cluster fly issue which wasn’t pleasant but was addressed by Norfolk Cottages for us satisfactory

    Wells-next-the-Sea Beach

    Wells Beach is easily one of Norfolk's finest. The sand goes on for miles and miles and hundreds of quirky colourful beach huts on stilts, run along the pine forest wall and back dunes. You can access the beach via the nearby carpark or it's a short walk or miniature rail ride from town along the East Fleet river.

    Old Hunstanton

    Old Hunstanton is a small village adjacent to Hunstanton, a major seaside resort. Unlike its busy sibling, Old Hunstanton retains its quiet character, it has a clifftop walk along the stripped cliffs where you will pass Old Hunstanton Lighthouse and ruins of St Edmund's Chapel. A stunning 40-mile stretch of Norfolk coast path starts near Old Hunstanton. The large sandy beach has sand dunes and is popular with kite surfers and families alike. The Old Town Beach Cafe on the beach serves up delicious food and drinks and is dog friendly.

    SEA LIFE Hunstanton

    On the South Promenade in Hunstanton is the SEA LIFE sanctuary and aquarium. It's a popular family attraction that also houses Norfolk's Seal Rescue Center and Hospital. Because of the large population of Common Seals and Grey Seals along this stretch of the North Norfolk coast, the seal hospital cares for injured and vulnerable seals and seal pups until they can be released back into the wild. As well as the penguin beach, you can see insects and creepy crawlies at Rainforest Ranger basecamp, then walk through the ocean tunnel and see a huge variety of sea creatures. It is mostly wheelchair and mobility scooter friendly. Toilets and a cafe.
