What our customers say about their holidays

The bungalow and it’s surroundings were even better than our already high expectations!

We found the bungalow immaculate with everything you could possibly need. The gardens surrounding the property are well kept with stunning views from every direction. We found it so peaceful with only the distance sounds of the sheep. Our dog loved it too as it was completely enclosed with so much for her to explore. The hot tub is huge which we enjoyed each evening admiring the views. The Seven Stars Pub is literally at the bottom of the drive and as it is also dog friendly, we ate there several times and thought the food was very good. We visited Llewellyn’s Cave, Elan Valley and Builth Wells which is the nearest town. I would say remember to take your basics such as bread and milk etc as there are no shops in a short walking distance. On arrival there was a freshly made cake and a beautiful bunch of flowers to greet us which we thought was such a lovely added touch. We didn’t meet the owners (apparently our dog did) however they are at hand if needed just very discreet. We enjoyed having breakfast each morning watching so many bird species on the feeder and in the garden. We were sad to leave and are definitely hoping to return.

Photos didn’t do this haven justice - a beautiful setting with private welsh countryside views.

Totally private, huge garden, massive hot tub - the biggest we’ve ever seen, watched the birds feeding outside from the dining table, immaculately clean, modernised throughout, spacious, lovely real woodburner, homemade cake awaiting our arrival. Had two meals out at the local pub The Seven Stars - just had to walk down the drive to get there - really friendly welcoming locals. A talented local man walks his dog across the hill playing his harmonica, stunning church such a peaceful village, wish I lived here! Only advertised as having one bathroom, but it has two really - a nice modern big bath with mixer tap and separate shower, and another en-suite bathroom which has another shower and toilet - so two toilets, two showers and a bath. Really handy utility room with a dog cage - our two dogs actually liked going in there which was their first time in one! - it kept our one year old King Charles calm while we were in the hot tub (as he tried to get in with us!) we all loved it! Xxx

The cottage and it's surroundings were absolutely perfect.

The cottage is very private, set in picturesque, peaceful countryside where all you can hear are the birds and the sheep. The interior is very clean and comfortable and has all the amenities that you could want from a holiday let. There is a private garden (with garden furniture) which is a wonderful sun trap, perfect for relaxing in with a cup of tea or glass of wine and if this isn't enough, there is the most amazing hot tub in which we spent many a happy hour. The cottage is also well situated as a base from which to explore Wales. We were made to feel welcome on our arrival with the added bonus of flowers and a lovely cake, there was comprehensive information about the local area (shops, eating places etc) provided and the friendly owners were available for any queries that we had. One small issue - the post code provided by Sykes for the property was incorrect and we had to ask at one of the local houses for directions.

Fantastic location, bedrooms perfect, 2 bathrooms great.

Kitchen well set out with comfortable dining area. Living room spacious but sofa only suitable for 4 people, sofas not comfortable as you sink into them so I was unable to use as it affected my back and I couldn't get up. Kitchen needed oven baking tray and better knives as the knives weren't sharp. Bathroom shower tiles were mouldy and needed deep clean, as did windows around the property, probably due to condensation but hadn't been cleaned for a while especially the kitchen. Waste bin in kitchen was dirty inside although bin bag covers the dirt. A 10am checkout didn't justify the deep clean issues/ covid as didn't the 5pm checkin. 7 hours of cleaning didn't seem to represent the cleanliness of areas, especially as guests we had to strip bedding, etc. We would return as it is a beautiful place, lovely cake from the owner.

We returned yesterday from a fabulous 7 day stay at the Pheasantry.

We had 9 people in our party plus a dog and found everything at the property to entertain our family and friends whose ages ranged from 12 years to 70 years. The property was very comfortable and a perfect size for our party. We were left not wanting for anything as the property was well provisioned. The gardens were impressive and the seating areas perfectly placed. The hot tub was the icing on the cake for all ages as was the outdoor tennis table. We would all highly recommend. If we were being picky it would be good to have a traffic mirror on the opposite side of the entrance drive to enable a more comfortable right turn or the hedges either side trimmed back to enable better visibility of oncoming traffic. Our deposit was also returned super quickly on the day we returned.
