What our customers say about their holidays

    • Keith - Verified booking

We found the property pretty much as described, private and comfortable.

The standard of the furniture, white goods and kitchen utensils/china was excellent and the property, including the hot tub, was clean. One thing that would have been helpful, though, would have been some shelving in the shower room to better hold toiletries rather than the floor mounted boxes. There was no information provided in the property on local amenities. The gentleman who owned the property did come to the cottage on the afternoon we arrived and spent some time telling us about local restaurants and drives around the island, but information provided in this way can be more difficult to take on board. What would have been more useful would to have been to provide a pack of information, which we’ve always found useful when we’ve stayed in other Sykes properties. About four days into our stay, we came across user manuals for the microwave, dishwasher, tv etc. in one of the kitchen drawers (although the info tor the microwave was for a different model). In summary, the property very much ‘did what it said on the tin’ but there was lot of information provided on what we could not to do, but nothing on what we could do. This did not, though, prevent us spending a wonderful week in a beautiful part of the country.

Clean, comfortable, spacious and very well appointed cottage with the added benefit of a hot tub and good parking.

Ian and Hilary were very welcoming and close at hand if needed but otherwise their nearby presence was very discreet. Excellent location to use as a base for exploring Anglesey by car or walking to Red Wharf Bay cross country starting on a footpath that you pick up right behind the property - just walk to the bottom of the garden, turn right and straight after the large gate there is a style (somewhat overgrown!) on the left. You can then follow various footpaths and quiet country lanes to Red Wharf Bay using such as footpathmap.co.uk. My wife and I were there in peak summer holiday season so some of the car parks in the surrounding towns and villages were a bit too busy, but there is a very large seafront car park at Cemaes Bay, which is certainly worth a visit. Also there is copious parking at Amlwch where you can easily pick up the coastal path. We enjoyed a walk along that to Bull Bay, stopping off en route at the Trecastell Hotel for an excellent Sunday carvery, which is highly recommended. All in all we had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay and are very happy to recommend Glasinfryn Cottage for couples looking to spend a relaxing time on Anglesey.

Just back from a week at this stunning property.

5 adults and one large dog. So much space inside so you don’t feel on top of each other. The property is of a high standard and beautifully done. Everything you need they have thought of. Lounge is large, bright but cosy. Kitchen is beautiful with everything provided. Bedrooms and beds very comfy. Garden is fantastic to sit out and enjoy. It’s very dog safe which is the first thing we look for when searching for holiday homes to be honest! Plenty of room for games of bowls etc. in the garden too. A short walk to the beach which is just fabulous. Our dog loved it! Tavern on the bay is a lovely spot along the dog beach for a stop off drink and rest. Red wharf bay is just a bit further along the coast and a great little cafe/ restaurant there called the Boathouse which serves lovely food. We also had a meal at The Breeze Hill at the top of the main road and it’s one of the best meals we’ve had.. portions are huge though so beware! Lots of great local shops too. We would highly recommend this property and have already booked again for next year.

      Excellent property all round.

Visited in September 2023 with family and 2 large dogs. Perfect location for exploring the area and the property has a totally doggy safe garden. Boot room a fab addition and great place for dogs to sleep after a tiring day on the fabulous beaches. Beautiful house with everything you might need and the luxury touch of the hot tub too! We were 4 adults so ample room and the luxury of having a bathroom for each couple. Great communication from owners who were very helpful when we left an item behind. Benllech itself has good facilities, we don’t dine out due to the booking being with dogs but ordered take out from the Benllech Tandoori which was very good as was fish and chips from Finley’s. Portreath beach a short ride away is an amazing expanse of sand at low tide, perfect for your pooches to have a run. Other must visits: Beaumaris, Newborough, Trearddur Bay, South Stack, Red Wharf Bay and Bull Bay where we were luck enough to glimpse the Porpoises. A great holiday and a lovely part of the world. We will definitely return!

A lovely weekend spent in this comfortable house which has been furnished to a high standard, the house itself is huge and ample room for 8 adults and a dog.

A fabulous large table in the kitchen provided a focal point for us all to come together to eat. The hot tub is a bonus and quietly positioned at the top of the garden, it does have steep steps for anyone with mobility issues. Due to holidaying in January we were unable to enjoy the garden, but I imagine it would be lovely in summer. It’s set in a very quiet area, no traffic noise and a wonderful view of the sea when you are washing up! The house was spotlessly clean and the beds had good quality mattresses, ample towels that were good quality - nothing is cheap in this house. Plenty of take aways and small cafes in Benllech itself as well as a Spa, Co-op and Tesco Express, the beach is a short walk down a steep hill and is stunning, there is of course the walk back up the steep hill which was a good workout after all the weekend treats. My only negative would be an additional sofa, for 8 people it was a squeeze, but we took it in turns on the bean bags. I would highly recommend this house and will be going back. Thank you.
