      - the stay was fine.

It was the accusations after. I paid a good amount of money to rent this property for the week and it was a busy stay. I took insurance out as when we stayed here before I knew glasses were broken when being placed in the sink. - we cleaned stripped the beds and towels and put them in the provided bag as asked. - accused of leaving a soaking wet towel that COULD of done damage to drawers, there was no damage. - the complaints from the cleaner after the stay were ridiculous. It was normal cleaning things that I may have missed but I was accused of things that weren’t true. The cleaner had to do her job yet complained about it. I was accused of breaking the blind but the roller had come off and I explained I did not want to make it worst and it was an easy fix. I was also accused of breaking the freezer which was untrue. I was accused of stealing glasses not asked about them accused. - I was accused of leaving rubbish across the garden, this did not happen. - accused of leaving a residue of powder on the coffee table - it was sand from shells and crystals my child had collected from the beach. - I asked my teenager to take the recycling out and he put it in the wrong bin, the cleaner made a complaint about this. - overall the stay was good but the attitude from the cleaner and owners was unacceptable. I was basically accused of trashing the place and ruining new bedding and I asked for photos and the tiny spot of a mark was sent to me from accidental spilt drink - again I had insurance for this.

Dolphin Cottage is lovely, well placed, immaculately clean.

Everything you need is there for you to enjoy your stay. We didnt find we were missing anything we needed. The owners had left things we didnt expect to find, especially with the toiletries. They left us milk and tea and coffee facilities for our arrival, also a starter pack for the log fire. We arrived to a power cut and they were able to advise us on when the power might be restored. They left a folder of hints and tips and all the manuals needed for the appliances. They deserve to be popular with guests. Lovely cottage and fab hosts. It took us 9 hours to get to Banff but we would happily book again. The cottage is dog friendly and they provide throws for the furniture. We will recommend them to anyone we know who might want to travel to that area. One tip if you are hoping to see the northern lights, ask the locals for advice on your first night. We found out that the lights had appeared on at least 3 nights of our stay but despite looking out of the windows we didnt see them, maybe we should have looked out of the back door not the front as we saw more stars in the sky at the back. All in all a lovely week in Banff and the surrounding area with a lovely cottage to go home to each evening

      Enjoyed my stay.

Cottage cosy after being out all day. Loved watching the waves and sunsetting. I have marked this down as the sofa and one of the chairs are awful to sit on and need replacing. Something has happened to one half of the sofa and it is completely done and uneven to sit on. I almost caused myself an injury sitting on middle of sofa and ended up on very hard section. Hard to describe but all you feel is hard, almost broken sections when trying to get comfy. Also rug at fire is a hazard and we removed it for our stay as one end completely curled up and an accident waiting to happen. May I also point out that why assume if booking for 3 people that the double bed and single will be sufficient. I booked this as there were 3 beds and luckily i had some bedding with me otherwise I would have had to buy some. Like I said enjoyed my stay but have marked down comfort and facilities for the points mentioned.

Enjoyed our stay, comfortable; bed and lots of equipment in the kitchen and also supplies of food and drink much appreciated.

The landlord,(Sean) was happy to come round and teach us how to use the gas oven. Good WIFI, phone signal a bity iffy at times. Some suggestions/quibbles. Could do with a doormat at the back and front doors. Pan brushes would also help. As with some loft conversions. mine included, there can be a problem with people not seeing the bit of wall that hangs down in to the bedroom and forgetting to duck as I did, with painful consequences. I have done it myself in my own home and there is no easy answer. The inward opening doors left the bathroom and upstairs bedroom a bit cramped but you can't do much about that. There was slight shortage of hot water at time, just enough for a bath, but only just. The stairs were a bit narrow, steep and also winding at the bottom. I am quite fit and that didn't affect me but have been tricky for an eighty something. Otherwise pleasant stay.

It was a lovely little cottage to stay in, quite deceiving from the outside, as quite large inside.

It was warm and cosy and convenient for visiting my daughter who lives in Alvah. We would definitely visit the cottage again. We visited the seafield Arms 3 nights for drinks and once for food. The food was excellent and great choice of beers. Very helpful and friendly pub. We bought from the deli at the premier shop which was very nice, all within a few minutes walk from the cottage. The tin opener didn’t work so I had to ask a neighbour to open 2 tins of tuna for me. She was very obliging. We could only find 1 mirror in the bathroom, I would suggest maybe some mirrors in the bedrooms. Another benefit would be a mirror over the sink in bathroom as my husband struggled to bend down to use the small shaving mirror. Another benefit would be bath sheets in the bathroom as we are all tall people. The kitchen was stocked with useful condiments if needed.
