On the Moray Coast in the northeast of Scotland, MacDuff is located on Banff Bay and has a view of the town of Banff across the estuary of the River Deveron. Macduff has beautiful sunsets and breath-taking sea views, and the town's architecture honours its maritime past. With its charming fishing communities scattered around the coastline, Scotland's northeast coast is a hidden gem and a great place to explore. There is a busy working harbour at MacDuff. The town itself has a lot to offer, including a wide variety of stores and fine dining establishments. A trip to the MacDuff Aquarium is a must to witness the species present in the Moray Firth's waters. The Royal Tarlair course presents a challenge for golfers because it is built on sheer cliffs and lost balls are never found!

The cottage was very comfortable and spacious and provided a great base for exploring the joys of Northern Scotland. The bedrooms were comfortable, as was the sitting room. The kitchen was well equipped. There isn't anything that I would change and I would happily stay again. If anyone is thinking of visiting this area I would strongly recommend choosing Rock Cottage.

The cottage was comfortable and great fun although I was bamboozled by the electric hob and would have preferred a shorter walk to the loo at night.

Toilet door has not been hung properly and jams. Bath seal not done properly. Would remove most of damp smell from this end area. Shower screen useless. Bare minimum of cutlery and towels. No mattress covers and poor quality bedding. Mattresses atrocious. No storage in 2 bedrooms. No facilities in garden for drying. Kitchen cupboard sliding door needs hung properly. Good wi fi. General area is very run down. Macduff has become a dump and not what i remember. Strange place for a holiday let. We won't be back. Parking sometimes difficult. Not a safe area at night and noisy neighbours. The rest of the coastal villages seem not to have got as run down. Aberdeenshire is still a place we will visit but Macduff will not be on our list.
