    Holiday Cottages in Bakewell

Made most famous for its Bakewell Pudding, this idyllic town has plenty of treats to offer. From relaxing strolls along the banks of the River Wye to exploring the rich history of Chatsworth House, the town of Bakewell is brimming with things to do. The bustling market town is characterised by its picture-postcard mellow stone buildings and quaint courtyards. And it's located in the heart of the Peak District National Park, so it's the perfect base for cycling and hiking enthusiasts too.

Here at Snaptrip, our holiday homes are just as charming as Bakewell in Derbyshire. Choose from quaint properties in the town centre or sweeping holiday rentals in the breathtaking countryside. Whichever Peak District holiday cottage you choose, you'll only ever be a minute's walk from something to do. Look out for properties that offer road parking for a breezy stay, and luxury amenities like swimming pools and hot tubs for an extra special getaway.

There's plenty to explore nearby. Explore the grounds of Haddon Hall or walk the famous Monsal Trail. Grab a bargain at the outdoor market or stroll the town's picturesque streets and scenic buildings. Don't miss a day trip to the sleepy village of Ashford-in-the Water, where you can enjoy a wander around its independent shops, or some afternoon tea at a traditional English tea room.

More locations in the Peak District

Bursting with historic market towns, rolling hills and breathtaking scenery, the Peak District National Park is one of the UK's most visited parks. And with plenty to see and do, there's truly something for everyone to enjoy.

What our customers say about their holidays

      What a wonderful cottage!

The location of the Robin’s Nest is just perfect! Being in the heart of Bakewell was just what we wanted and we couldn’t have been happier. The fact that the cottage is set within the gates of Kings Court not only added a layer of privacy and security, it also made it that bit quieter. Even the bustle of the morning wasn’t audible at the cottage. Absolutely fantastic! The owners, Julie & Rik, have set the cottage up to be very welcoming and comfortable. The welcome basket was a lovely surprise! The cottage had everything we needed for the 2.5 weeks we stayed there. The bedrooms had plenty of space and storage, and we all felt very much at home. Having two bathrooms was really nice as well. While there is a television, we didn’t turn it on at all but instead enjoyed the quiet evenings at the cottage, both in the lounge as well on the patio. The outdoor space, albeit limited, was so nice to enjoy with a glass of wine. The only things I’d note for others is that while we didn’t have any issues at all with finding parking in town with use of the permit (in June), it could be a bit more challenging for anyone with mobility issues. This also applies to the upside down nature of the cottage layout. We loved the private bedroom on the ground level with the rest of the cottage being up the staircase, but it is something to consider should you have mobility issues. We look forward to our next trip to Bakewell and a stay at the Robin’s Nest!! Thank you Julie and Rik!!

Another year, another stay, another review.

So this is our second visit to this amazing property. So impressed the first time we needed a return. The property is beautiful, inside and out. Lovely welcome pack on arrival and the welcome book has so much information for you if needed. Even extras in it about walking routes, pubs etc. Great touch. Furnished to a high standard, warm, comfortable and everything that is needed is there. The living room is especially comfortable and if it wasn't for wanting to explore the area I could of sat there all day. The kitchen, just as beautiful as the rest of the property and if I could cook! I could of spent a lot of time in there too. Not one thing about this property let's it down and you can tell that the owners really put a lot of effort into keeping it this way. Speaking of which, I have never had such great and helpful communication from any owner of properties, and we have stayed at a lot. Makes it feel so much more welcoming. Another great touch. All of this combined made for another great stay, so much so that 4 days after returning home we have already booked for next year. Thankyou for sharing your home with us again and we look forward to another return.

This very special place is close to everything.

Tucked away in a quaint & atmospheric courtyard you feel completely at ease & instantly part of the Peak District .10 mins. walk from the door to the main centre of Bakewell makes planning your day so easy, whether browsing the many quirky shops, strolling along the river, cycling /walking the Monsal trail not to mention a visit to Chatsworth house & surrounding breath taking countryside & villages... all are easily accessible. Robins nest is beautifully decorated, absolutely spotless & extremely comfortable the very generous welcome treats were so appreciated after a long drive from London. We would highly recommend a stay here & will return for sure. PS. Look out for Bobbin the robin who nests in the court yard hedge, he's very sociable & often spotted sat on the entrance gate, another unexpected treat! With very many thanks & very best wishes Wendi, Vince & James Dallanegra

      What an amazing week!

We absolutely loved our stay in this cosy & comfortable cottage. The property is really nicely furnished as a 'home from home' - the owners had thought of everything (they even left us an Easter egg!), and were in touch as we arrived to ensure everything went smoothly. Youlgreave is a gem of a village - we were able to walk directly from the property on several days using the helpful book on local walks we found at the cottage; the scenery is just magnificent. It's also a great base from which to explore the Peak District - we loved Buxton, Bakewell and of course Chatsworth which are all an easy drive away. We sampled all 3 of Youlgreave's village pubs & would really recommend 'Pie Night' on Thursday at the Bull's Head! Thank you so much @ Kirsty & Martyn, we will be back! The Evans Family

This was quite possibly the most beautiful cottage we have stayed in in the Peak District and there's been a few!

Very comfortable and cosy, beautifully decorated and very much a 'home'. The location was ideal for visiting anywhere in the Peaks and our hosts could not have been more accommodating from day one. Can recommend all the pubs in the village, although the welcome and food in the nearest, the Farmyard Inn were hard to beat. Helpful having a parking space as the village is understandably very popular but it is ample for one large car. The walk down and along Bradford Dale is a must and very pretty, rain or shine. Can't thank Kirsty enough for her kindness and hospitality and we definitely plan to visit again. Apologies for delay in feedback, I accidentally deleted the link email!! PS. Extra doggie biscuits and bits were extremely handy! Kate, Steve and Archie the Cavalier x
