About this property

Hope Cottage is a truly delightful holiday home settled in the heart of the village of Youlgreave, amongst the rural greenery of the Peak District National Park. This white-washed cottage is idyllically positioned for groups of both families and friends wishing to enjoy some overdue quality time together in this picturesque part of the country. Park up in the off-road parking area before unloading your belongings and accessing your new home-from-home through the rear of the cottage, where you will be welcomed by the charming dining room, sure to host many delicious meals during your stay. Feel the underfloor heating on your toes as you follow the stone flooring through to the snug sitting room, where exposed wooden beams and an inglenook fireplace highlight the property's original character; put your feet up and enjoy a moment of peace in front of the television as the wood burning stove crackles nearby. When stomachs start to rumble, discover the well-equipped kitchen, uniquely designed with a fascinating "fossil spotting" wall and housing all of the essential amenities, including a handy washing machine to help keep your holiday attire fresh and clean! A wet room and a sumptuous double bedroom complete the ground floor whilst upstairs you will find the master bedroom, fitted with a king-size bed, along with a twin room and a stylish family bathroom. Resting outside is a delightful patio which provides a peaceful spot to enjoy a cup of tea before deciding where to go for the day! In Youlgreave there is a small shop and Post Office, together with a selection of good pubs serving food, while a larger range of amenities are available in the nearby market town of Bakewell. From this splendid cottage there is a wealth of walking trails or hire a bike to explore the rolling landscape of the Peak District National Park, along with the Monsal and High Peak Trails, both of which are traffic-free routes. The magnificent stately home of Chatsworth House, home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, and the Tudor Country House of Haddon Hall are both set within driving distance, whilst those looking for a more exhilarating experience may prefer a fun-filled day out visiting Alton Towers Theme Park!

Hope Cottage is an idyllic base to enjoy a relaxing holiday with loved ones.

Youlgreave is nestled between two of the area's most beautiful valleys, Lathkill Dale and Bradford Dale to the south. This beautiful community has three pubs serving Home Cooked meals, two stores (one with a Post Office) and an ancient church. Bakewell, a charming market town, lies nearby and hosts a weekly market. The Peak District National Park is nearby, as are several magnificent homes, such as Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Hardwick Hall, Kedleston Hall, and Clake Abbey. Alton Towers, Britain's top theme park, is only a short drive away.

Woodburner made the living room lovely and cosy, as well as central heating throughout the cottage.Welcome snacks for both us and our dog were much appreciated. The lovely railings and gates installed around the entrance made it safe for young children and pets. Great location in the village and close to a welcoming pub with good a very short walk. Would definitely recommend this beautiful cottage.

A fab place to visit if you love walking, lovely friendly pubs and great village, whilst staying in a fabulous cottage. The cottage is so well equipped and furnished with everything you could want. We have always visited in Feb where the weather can deal many different elements. The cottage is so warm and welcoming no matter what the weather. The owners are so helpful and have gone to great lengths to make everything great for your stay.
