      Many thanks for the flat. We really enjoyed our stay and really only have some minor suggestions that may help you to improve what is a great place to stay. We thought it would have been nice to have a welcome pack. Also some of the basic food and similar items that you don’t want to have to buy specially just for a week would have been useful: e.g., salt pepper and vinegar. There was tea and coffee but for instance the instant coffee in the cupboard was over a year out of its sell by date and unusable. We wonder whether it’d be worth reviewing everything you provide in terms of food, removing the old stuff and focus on what people are most likely to need. Final thought: there are a huge number of glasses (enough for a huge party!) but not many plates etc. Which were rather small.

      Comfortable, clean and cosy.

      We really enjoyed our stay at this property, which is very well sited for exploring North Yorkshire and a good base to visit York itself. There's a Morrisons just a few hundred yards down the road, which is very handy. We had mixed weather during our stay, so it was nice to have a lovely cosy retreat in the evening. We didn't actually do any hiking, but if we'd had our wet muddy boots to dry then the carpets and shoe cupboard provided in the accommodation are far too nice to store muddy boots, so you'd have to leave them in the car. Maybe a plastic box (or equivalent) could be provided to help dry muddy boots overnight without causing a mess for anyone.

      Really clean property.

      Owners kindly and friendly. Very convenient for us and a good price. Flexible arrangements- we booked Thursday-Thursday. I love the big window in the bedroom. Plenty of storage in there. I found the bed and the pillows slightly uncomfortable. The kitchen was a bit of a challenge for me but we largely ate out. It was a bit cramped and I couldn't face doing battle with the oven. It was clean and that mattered most. Bathroom and sitting room were fine. I think we are likely to visit again. Parking was great. We could walk into Minskip or Boroughbridge.

      To the owners of the Gables, I wish to thank you for the warm welcome you gave us.

      The house was one of the cleanest we have ever stayed in and was perfectly positioned for our activities during our stay. When I tripped the electrics (entirely my fault! - I shook my hands dry in direct view of the exposed kettle!) you were most accomodating in putting our electric back on and presenting us with a new kettle. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will consider staying again when I next visit my brother who is based in Boroughbridge.

      Ideal location for walks and for exploring Yorkshire.

      The accommodation was first rate with plenty of equipment in the kitchen and the property generally. The owners left a lot of information about the immediate area as well options for days out (both wet and dry days). It could possibly benefit from having a hair drier available and either a net curtain or a blind in the kitchen window. Would definitely revisit and would highly recommend the property to friend, family and others.
