What our customers say about their holidays

    • Mr Ross - Verified booking

We stayed for a week in mid September. The house was exactly as described on the website and perhaps even better than the photos suggested. The house itself is very well appointed to a high quality and the facilities lacked nothing. The way the house is laid out would lend itself equally well to a group of friends, a family (large or small), a couple wanting a peaceful get-away or even 2 families with separate facilities. The views over the dale are fantastic and the large sitting room window with its built in shelf overlooking the dale is a great place to sit and admire the views / get the binoculars out. The location was also as we had hoped - very peaceful, completely away from it all yet only a few minutes' drive from the nearby village of Danby. Trish and John were excellent hosts - very welcoming with plenty of helpful suggestions, walking / driving routes and local information. We would certainly recommend Dale View Barn and will ourselves no doubt return for another break in the future

I booked a weekend away for my family, ( wife, children / spouses, grandchildren, sister and father in law ), to celebrate my 65th birthday. We all agreed it was a fabulous cottage with stunning views and only a half hour from Whitby. The property was ideal with everything you could need, including a little study area with plenty of games etc to keep my young grandchildren happy. Both Mr and Mrs Anderson were very welcoming and friendly and their property is a credit to them.

We had such a wonderful weekend. The owners are so lovely and provided us with a very warm welcome including milk and juice in the fridge, biscuits on the table, a roaring fire and they even took all our online shopping in that arrived early. We felt at home straight away and kids and adults had a brilliant weekend a like. Couldn't habe wished for anything more. We hope to return very soon. Thank you so much!
