What our customers say about their holidays

    • Marion - Verified booking

The bones of this flat are great and its location really couldn't be better, but it needs attention.

The sitting room and kitchen are absolutely fine, and the bathrooms do the job (though the en-suite shower leaks badly), but the bedrooms - particularly the master bedroom - are pretty disappointing. The double bed has the hardest mattress we've ever slept on; it was very uncomfortable to the point where one of us slept on the daybed in the second bedroom. The chest of drawers in the master bedroom is starting to fall apart (there was a piece hanging off the bottom) and it just all felt rather shabby. The wifi - which the paperwork in the flat described as something like "high quality" - doesn't stretch beyond the kitchen, so you've no hope of streaming anything in either bedroom; the irony of there being a Bluetooth-enabled mirror in the en-suite bathroom was not lost on us. Lastly, the noise from the flat above was almost intolerable at times. We were under the impression children weren't allowed in either flat, but there were children in the flat above us for the week we were there and the noise was difficult to deal with, particularly in the mornings and late at night. We were also very aware of our footsteps on the wooden floors and the impact on the flat below us. Knowing now that children are allowed in the top flat, that fact alone means we would not use Waters Edge again.

Our week at Gadlys House replaced a month-long trip to India, which clearly, due to its red-listing, didn’t happen.

We were extremely fortunate to enjoy amazing weather, with temperatures reflecting those we may have experienced in India but without the humidity! This property exceeded our expectations and we felt that photos did not do justice to the views enjoyed from nearly all apartment windows. Our views over Snowdonia, however, were probably enhanced by the clarity of light during the fabulous weather enjoyed. Appliances, including the Bluetoothed bathroom mirrors, were all very contemporary and particularly enjoyed by the 20 somethings in our party. The three bedrooms very well suited our party of three adults. I would thoroughly recommend this property and beautiful town. Beaumaris was fabulous and reminded me of a quieter version of St Ives, Cornwall.

Fantastic holiday and Gadlys house was brilliant.

Very clean and had everything we needed and more.Heating came on when the temperature dropped slightly and no fiddling about with boiler controls.Showers were brilliant: plenty of hot water which goes along way with holiday homes and hotels. We were 4 friends [over 65yrs] the bunk beds were a little small for an adult but we managed fine and the telly in the room made up for it.We did have an issue with the twin room onsuite sliding door, it was difficult to close shut because of the runner and once in there,on one occasion,I became stuck for 15 mins till friends heard me shouting.I'm sure this will be fixed.Parking was fine due to restrictions don't apply after 15th Sept.Parked by the colourful houses.Views are unbelievable.

Lovely flat, clean and cosy and generally well equipped with everything needed.

Really appreciated the welcome pack too, very nice. Not having oven gloves and kitchen towels quite a nuisance though, shame about it. Perhaps a pair of silicone oven gloves could be acquired for the property? They don't cost much more than regular fabric ones, but are much easier to clean and maintain. Or even fabric ones, after all they can be thrown in the wash at the end, ready for the next visitors? Ditto for a pair of kitchen towels. Also, it would have been good to know more about the lack of parking and nearby options/availability from the onset - information was not given until after booking and paying for the property and it was somewhat incomplete.

      Perfect small hideaway.

Comfy bed and good facilities in the kitchenette. Can park your car right outside the front door. Ian's Bara Brith is appreciated by all guests. Ian also purchased some grab rails to aid my wife in the wet room area. We used Tryfan as a base to retrace 'The Hairy Bikers' last road trip in this part of the world - visited Maggie Ogunbanwo in Penygroes to collect some spices and took the train from Porthmadog to Blaenau Ffestiniog to buy some spicy Kurdish Pasties from Kumang Rashid. Caernarfon, Zip World and a host of tourist attractions are within easy driving distance of this property. A visit to Criccieth is recommended.
