"We have been to this cottage many times now over the years & wouldn't stay anywhere else. It is a home from home, very clean & tidy & we love it. It starts with the welcoming flowers & treats. It is comfortable, spacious & very well equipped, everything you need is here. They are very dog friendly & even have food & water bowls to save bringing your own. The wonderful Bovey Tracey has many walks & places to visit not far away. There are several supermarkets & local shops which cater for all your needs. Also 2 pubs a minuets walk away. The local church is beautiful inside & the bell ringers very friendly & proud of their church.Although the cottage is close to the main road through Bovey, you cannot hear the traffic at all as it's behind the houses that line the road. It can be a bit tricky to get into Orchards Way on your first visit & is best approached going uphill. We have a large Shogun so if we can get in, cars can easily! I was in need of the local garage this visit as the car broke down. J. Sibly a minuets walk away came to me rescue & despite them being completely booked up for jobs they very kindly fitted me in & got me going again. Cannot praise them enough!"

"The owner is very friendly (provided eggs) but needs to pay attention regarding general housekeeping. Cobwebs around the edges of floor. Dust and cobwebs by side of fridge. Outgoing Holidaymakers food in sink! Dust and cobwebs under woodburner. The front door does not fit properly, (gap which would make the place cold in winter) hence when it rains there is standing water. Obviously a long standing problem due to the water marks surrounding the door and floor. The towels were very hard!! No little finishing touches eg welcome tray, cut flowers, wine, milk in fridge, little toiletries. We have stayed in lots of cottages and at least one or more of aforementioned is in the cottage! It smacks of the least effort for getting the most money. They have several properties on the farm and a B&B and so I believe they are over stretching themselves and attention to detail is going out the window. It is good as it is on one level especially if you are less able."

"Very pretty garden cottage and nice owners. Negative points which may be problematic or need consideration:- Internet turned off later in the evening. There is a washing machine but needs eco-friendly powder. It would be nice to have separate available space to hang washing as other line is often full/in use: there is no tumble dryer as an alternative. The shower drips constantly and noisily and it is hard to get a good temperature to shower in. However, as the bathroom door gets stuck and is hard to open, this helps to dull the noise at night. Roads are very narrow and getting out onto the road from the cottage is rather hazardous. Nevertheless, the surroundings make up for this and the property is a good base for exploring the area and attractions. Would recommend Buckfast Abbey very close by and if you don't mind travelling a bit further afield, 'The Eden project' and Agatha Christies country home 'Greenway' are interesting visits. Good walking shoes a must."

"The cottage on arrival was dirty, I had to clean it and clean up other peoples dog poo bags, there was no heating for a few days and it was cold, we did phone and report it, it was supposed to have been fixed but the down stairs was cold when we turned it off and the upstairs heating wouldn't go off, it says you have a wash/dryer I did a wash load put the dryer on and the load came out wet it wasn't working and they didn't bother to tell us, I phoned and told them they said they knew but the bloke was on holiday, we had no way of drying them, and it still wasn't fixed two weeks later on leaving. we couldn't sit out due to it being dirty and over grown, the other sad thing is that there is no warning about the car place for you to park in, that you need a cover to protect your car, our new cars paintwork as been damaged even though we got it washed straight away.A positive about the cottage is that its well equipped when everything is working."

"Beautiful location close to excellent Dartmoor walks and other attractions. Booking was easy and advertising materials very accurate. Owners friendly and helpful. Accommodation clean, comfortable and well laid out. Super pet friendly and safe garden for 3 dogs. Loved the layout of the stepping stones and close proximity to country life, including the Alpacas and cows!! We loved spending time in the hot tub although we did have to clean some 'scum marks' from around the inside surface. The cream tea on arrival was lovely with home-made scones too!! Lovely modern decor in a stone built building. Our stay was amazing and we will always remember it with fondest thoughts. Parking for 3 cars was a bonus. I even remembered some musical notes from many years ago and had a little tinkle on the piano's ivory keys!! Have already shown lots of friends photographs and recommended that they visit!!"
