"Had a lovely week staying at S33771. The decor is absolutely stunning - all done in accents of black, white, grey and silver with splashes of red in a couple of the bedrooms. Very tasteful and modern, yet in an old fashioned house. The kitchen was lovely - it had the same cooker as I have, so I knew what I was doing straight away! - but the instruction manuals were left for all of the household appliances, right down to the hairdryer in the ensuite! We found the garden a little bit difficult to get up to - the steps are very steep - so I maybe wouldn't recommend it for elderly people, small children or people with mobility problems, although the garden itself was lovely with a great view of Llansteffan. If you're not bothered about going in the garden though, don't let this put you off!Similarly, the spiral staircase up to the attic was a bit tricky to negotiate, but I suspect little kids would love it!The ensuite and the main bathroom were both gorgeous - there's a walk-in cubicle shower in the ensuite for anyone with mobility issues - and an over-bath shower in the bathroom. The house also has the nicest outside toilet I've ever seen! The lounge was very comfy with a nice big TV, and the wifi was phenomenal! (A massive bonus as we had no mobile signal on O2 in the whole village!)As we had a dog, we didn't eat out in the village a lot, but we did try Florrie's Fish 'n' Chips at the beach, and these were gorgeous and the staff were lovely, even giving us a partial refund because the cod they had were smaller than usual! The staff and customers were also lovely in the village shop, although it only stocks the basics. The nearest supermarket is about a fifteen minute drive away, although there's a Spar in nearby Johnstown. We did find the house a little bit chilly when we first arrived, but this could have been because no-one was staying in it the week before. All in all we had a lovely time at S33771. I would definitely recommend it."

"A very nice cottage in an ideal location to see the beautiful welsh coast. Clean and tidy, with a lovely decked area at the front of the cottage with hot tub and bbq available, however I feel that the advertisement doesn’t stress how close the owners are living to the cottage, it doesn’t have the private feeling we were hoping for. We were greeted with what I felt was a very frosty reception, bev was very nice but was very quick to lay down the rules, such as clean the bbq after yourselves, numerous amount of hot tub rules, no glass, we were told to pick the pine needles out (hot tub under a pine tree) and my girlfriend was told to remove her make up. We had driven 5 hours with a dog and a 7 month old baby during the heatwave we are having. We probably weren’t ready for this onslaught. Dog owners please read the small print. You can not leave your dog in the cottage for even a moment. We took our dog out with us on the first day in the 28 degree heat where she struggled immensely, so we tried to leave her in the cottage on the second day only to be called to be told we are breaking the terms and conditions and to return to the property immediately. also many of the near by beaches are no dog zones, so therefore we had a dog that couldn’t stay in the cottage or go on the beach?? As the owners of the cottage are dog owners themselves I thought they would have some sympathy during the hot weather. One last thing, if the health and safety had one look at the high chair that was provided for the baby bev would be selling her hot tub to pay the fine. In a nutshell we wouldn’t return because we felt we couldn’t relax in the strict environment and I’d personally recommend this cottage to the elderly hill walking type"

"We had an excellent time at S41787. You get the warmest of welcomes from the friendly owners Julie and John who have created an attractive and comfortable cottage in which you can relax and enjoy yourselves. The peace and quiet and the lovely extensive views across the valley make it a great place to stay. Although only sleeping two the cottage is roomy and very well furnished and equipped - the bed was extremely comfortable which is not always the case in some other cottages. Everything was spotless and the welcome hamper was generous and of high quality. We particularly enjoyed eating the owners' duck eggs! At first I was disappointed that there was no wifi but at the end of our sadly too short a stay I realised how much more relaxed we felt not wasting holiday time looking at our smart phones and iPad. Although we could happily have spent all our time just at the cottage we were in a lovely part of Wales with plenty to see and do. We also loved the traditional old pub down the hill owned by the National Trust. We hope to return as soon as possible and for a longer stay next time. Thank you Julie and John for your kind hospitality."

"A beautifully renovated cottage - comfortable and well-equipped. We have stayed in a lot of holiday cottages and this has to be the most stylish! The owners have obviously put a lot of thought and care into the cottage and we were made very welcome by Huw. The property is on a steep bank, which may present difficulties for some guests. However, the view from the garden made negotiating the steep steps outside worthwhile and our 15 year old son found no problems with the spiral staircase inside to reach his generous bedroom in the very top of the house. Our teenagers were also impressed with the great wifi - no complaints there! The location was great for us - just a 5 minute walk to the beach and the local amenities, including a friendly pub serving good, reasonably priced food. Llansteffan is a lovely village with very friendly locals. There are beautiful walks and scenery and Carmarthen is within easy reach. We had a fabulous week at S33771 and look forward to returning soon."

"Stayed here with my 3 friends (we have been friends for 20+ years) and once a year we have a weekend away to catch up, chill, drink and eat. We arrived Friday afternoon, unpacked cracked open the wine and cooked a meal, everything you can think of in the kitchen was there, nothing overlooked and waiting for us on our arrival was proseco and home made cakes, a lovely touch. The converted barn is amazing, the decoration superb and all the 'detail' made it very special, the bedrooms and bathrooms were fantastic, as was everything, first class, highly recommend it and will definitely be returning in the future, oh nearly forgot (and how could I) the hot tub, fab fab fab.The highlight of the whole weekend was on the Saturday, early evening, the family had been out with their two dogs and rounded up the sheep and we watched from inside as they were herded right past us and back into the farm behind....fantastic sight."
