"The property is clean and tidy and well equipped. Bodmin has a Morrisons and Lidle as well as an Asda with an Aldi on the way. Otherwise the town is unremarkable and getting into it can be troublesome because of heavy traffic and restricted parking. The setting of the property is very rural and it was incredibly quiet. The roads around and about are challenging and mainly single track if you venture off any main road so be prepared to have to back up and squeeze in for others to pass. Getting about takes a while as a result. We visited Tintagel and Eden project and Lanhydroc all of which were lovely but busy. A trip to Fowey was fun but again traffic and parking are down sides of any attraction in Cornwall. The property as with most things in Cornwall was on the dear side for the size and location. Eden Project at £25 is priced and we avoided any fish and chips which were just shy of £10 a portion in most places we saw. The county is beautiful with fab beaches and coastal paths. But it's a long journey to get there with too much traffic using too many small roads. Would I go back? Probably at some time in the future but to a different area and expecting delay and cost. There's nothing wrong with the property or the Bodmin area and the issues affecting it are probably the same everywhere in the South West! Value for money therefore has to be questioned. We had a lovely time and don't regret being there at all but Cornwall would be better with fewer tourists like us who would be happier in other parts of the country which are less busy."

"We had a lovely week at Mena Farm. The cottage is set out in the country adjoining the Mena camp site. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and we were able to take in the scenery whilst exercising the dogs. We were a family of 6 4 adults and two children aged 9 & 5. They loved the outdoor play area and had hours of fun playing. The facilities in the cottage are good, however the only negative was the bathroom, more the shower. Unfortunately the shower spray was very poor so much so that the spray was more of a trickle! The bathroom itself is nice a spacious with a slipper bath. We did try to use the bath but it took forever to fill up...we gave up and it also used all the hot water. So in essence looked nice but not really useful. As a minimum the shower needs to be replaced. The drive area to the house was private and secure. It was lovely to be able to sit outside and enjoy the sun. The yard area would benefit from a patio set or a table to go with the chairs already provided. (there was a wooden picnic table but the bench was very narrow and uncomfortable to sit on for any length of time)The kitchen facilities are great, it was easy to cook for the family rather than spending lots of money eating out.We did use the wood burner one evening and although you have to pay for the wood as this is an added extra it soon warmed the house up and made it cosy. Everyone was very friendly, helpful and welcoming. It was an ideal central location and I would stay again. In fact we didn't want to come home."

"This is a lovely well presented property with substantial character and good parking right outside the front door. It is very well equipped and very clean. Its location in Dunmere next to the River Camel and its trail are excellent but with a little road noise from the main A road between Bodmin & Wadebridge a 100m or so away although only really noticeable when the windows are open and did not affect sleeping. Quite spacious although you need to accept that the double beds are effectively against a bedroom wall on one side and the wet room ensuite a little small when compared to the very good bathroom off the other bedroom. Did not have time to use as out everyday of the week, but there are French doors off each downstairs bedroom to a cozy outside private sitting area with table and chairs. Cream tea on arrival demonstrated excellent owners just next door. Would definitely return."

"We had a lovely holiday here, there is everything you need to make you feel at home. Ian and Alison are lovely people and really made us feel welcome. The cream tea on arrival was a lovely gesture and delicious, as were the fresh eggs and milk. The farmhouse is nice and private, has it's own gated driveway. It was only a short walk to the field to exercise our 2 dogs, a lovely enclosed area. The house is spacious and cosy and we really felt at home. There is a big kitchen with full size American fridge freezer, range cooker and good range of utensils etc. A great central location to access both coasts."

"This property is beautifully presented. The care and attention in furnishing the cottage is very evident and makes for an harmonious environment which is restful in itself. It is very comfortable and attractively set with a lovely field for dog walking or in our case, running! One very small frustration was the council's re-arrangement of the turning off and on the A30 which made some local travel a bit confusing. However, in spite of this, we had a relaxing and very enjoyable stay and it would not prevent us from returning to such a lovely place.....it thoroughly deserves its Gold Award."
