"My overall rating for this property is 2. I would love to give a good review but I can't. I wish I'd read all the reviews rather than relying on just the review rating before booking. One of the main reasons for booking this cottage was that it was advertised as being detached, but it isn't. It is attached to next door by the owners "office" which someone seemed to be using most days. As this cottage is the owners actual home they had moved into the summer house at the end of the garden and were always pottering about the place. This included entering the property when we were out to turn on the central heating which had been turned off at the start of the holiday. The property description states there is use of a freezer and dvd player this is also incorrect. There was no dvd player, we could have taken one with us if we had known, so had to buy one and the freezer had a lock fitted as it contained the owners food. Luckily he was willing to let us use it because we had taken food for the freezer with us. The one and only shower we could use was adequate but need the head cleaning as very little water came out.The one saving grace for this property is the location as there are so many places to visit without having to travel too far."

"Amazing property for a large group. Spacious and plenty of bathrooms! Kitchen was well equipped and a decent size for several people to cook & eat in. Sitting room and TV room both pleasant to spend time in. All bedrooms were delightfully decorated, beds were very comfortable. Bathrooms were all clean and modern, White Company toiletries were a very nice touch also. The large loft suite was an excellent addition for the couple wanting a little more space. The grounds were immaculately kept and plenty of outdoor furniture for everyone to relax in. The welcome hamper also deserves a mention as it was fully stocked with all the essentials plus delicious cakes, wine, cereal & fresh fruit. The village is Broadwell is very pretty and quiet yet near to all our favourite areas such as Stow on the Wold & of course Daylesford Organic! We would absolutely recommend staying here and will hopefully be back soon."

"As a group of eight friends we enjoyed our stay at the comfortable four bed converted barn. One of 3 in the conversion. There are no amenities within easy walking distance especially in the winter but excellently positioned as a base to explore the many attractions of the area. Oxford and Newbury are les than 30 min drive and Wantage only a short drive away. One negative in the property is the WiFi. No broadband - only a 4G link which didn’t allow connection to a server, so if internet access is essential to a business person, this is not for you. Also, if you are a family with kids, there is only one tv to fight over! We would recommend this property and would definitely stay again if in the area."

"The cottage was even better than I had imagined, with all so clean and well equipped. The deer roaming round early morning, and the three friendly sheep were invaluable extras for the children, who also enjoyed their stay. I reported a slight leak round the collar of the kitchen tap, and gave thanks for the lovely idea of leaving a Christmas tree for us! Someone had put a lot of thought into what visitors of three generations would like. Obviously I would have like it to be cheaper, but wouldn't anyone? Finally the snow - while not arranged by the owners - was "the icing on the cake"!"

"Lovely location in village and easy access to Oxford. House worked really well for 5 adults and 3 under 3s. We were concerned about 2 staircases but these were both off hallways with doors so little ones had free reign of lounge, dining room and kitchen to toddle around. They loved the outside space and the ‘Ba Bas’ in the next field. Only negatives, not enough cups, shower over bath not great and garden open to car park but these were minor and didn’t spoil our enjoyment of the house. Went to Millers Farm which the children loved, great soft play barn plus animals and more."
