Staying in Worcestershire

If you want to learn something new Worcestershire has plenty of museums. The Salt museum and the George Marshall Medical Museum are especially good. Worcestershire Sauce may be the first thing to spring to mind when thinking of Worcestershire and food, but this county has a lot more to offer. With many cafes, pubs and restaurants using locally sourced produce to create both traditional and new meals there is plenty to choose from. No matter where your interests lie, Snaptrip has a brilliant selection of late availability self catering accommodation for your trip.

"The cottage was well equipped in a quiet location, you were able to watch the rabbits and robins daily.Directions to the cottage were good, we feel it would be helpful to name the road as second station road turning on the right. In all the cottages we have rented there has always been at the least a basic welcome pack of a pint of milk and a few sachets of sugar and coffee, here there were a few spoonfuls of sugar and a packet of muffins, although most people come prepared others could be caught out. Also in all the properties we have rented we have never been asked to do the cleaning, as i put in the house comment book i would expect everyone to treat the property as their own and it is the owners responsibility to make sure it is ready fore the next people. There was dishwasher on site but no detergent for it, if this is the case log you need to bring your own capsules which we would have done had we known. As we were there for a few days only this was not a big an issue. Again this has never happened to us before. There was wi-fi available but it was not secure if you were not a BT customer, you could pay to connect securely but again this was not listed, we feel it is unfair to list what is available and not list if extras are needed. On the plus side due to the location and no mobile reception there was a land line that could be used if needed, there was also a good supply of leaflets to show the local area. With all this i would visit the cottage again as i know what to expect and this will make future customers aware before departure."

"On arrival our first thoughts where lovely property but absolutely no thought had gone into the outside as the garden was badly overgrown, inside the property was very clean and fully equipped, we did find though that the duvet covers on the beds where very slippery causing the duvet to end up at bottom off the covers also the waterproof cover over mattress was uncomfortable to sleep on and the pillows which where also waterproof where awful to use, unfortunately we had very little sleep during our stay, also one of my worst fears was the amount of huge spiders in the property, during our 6 days we had 21 spiders, 3 earwigs, and several silver fish, we stayed till day 6 and that was enough for me due to my phobia of spiders, I would of left on day 1 if it wasn't for letting everyone else down, I have not left this review to put people off but to make people aware that if you don't like creepy crawlies this may not be the place to go, besides them the property would be fine, it just needs more thought to having comfortable bedding put in place of the current plastic and slippery one's and also an upgrade on the current big backed television and maybe even a television put in the major bedroom upstairs :)"

"Main issues were doors that wouldn't open or close, shower room extremely cramped especially the shower cubicle, bathroom shower attachment impossible to get to a reasonable mix to wash with - you either froze or roasted, also no shower curtain so water goes everywhere, paint peeling off the wall as not tiled. Everywhere very cobwebby & generally in need of redecorating. Also the curt note left about ensuring that you clean the cottage fully before leaving or will be charged for cleaning, is not welcome. Whilst I will leave a place clean & tidy, I don't want to feel threatened in to spring cleaning before I leave! On the plus side, the beds & pillows are the most comfortable we have ever slept on & the towels lovely & fluffy & the bath sheets much appreciated. The fridge freezer is a good size and there is also a washing machine, separate dryer & a dishwasher, plus a microwave so the kitchen is well-equipped. The location is very quiet & rural, so if you don't like being away from it all, it's not for you. A welcome pack would perhaps be a good idea to welcome guests. You really need to drive to the village shop, as it's not just around the corner."

"Beautifully presented cottage. Plenty of towels & the kitchen was amply supplied with equipment, including foil, cling film, kids plastic plates/bowls, kitchen roll & dishwasher tablets. Lovely welcome pack with milk, tea & cake! My toddler loved the boxes of toys & books- a really thoughtful addition. Lots to do in the area. Our favourite was the Little Owls farm park which kept us busy for a whole day- loads of animals to interact with, an excellent indoor soft play area, go kart track, indoor mini tractors & sand play, a giant outdoor bouncing pillow, clean toilets & nice cafe. We also really enjoyed the Blists Hill Victorian town & other Ironbridge museums, Acton Scott Historic farm, Stokesay Castle & Warwick Castle. The local pub 'Mare & Colt' was easy to walk to & served decent pub grub with a good kids menu. Overall a perfect place for a family holiday."

"We arrived and found several wasps alive and dead inside the cottage. We later found out that there was a wasps nest in the guttering. The owner came over straight away and put in poison however the next day we removed 29 wasps from the property. After another call to the owner he came and put in more poison. This did not stop us from removing a further 10 wasps the next day. In hindsight maybe he should have called out pest control to sort the issue immediately. After looking around for wasps we did notice that the property was not as clean as we would have liked and found dust, fluff and food both under the chairs and in the sofa. We have been offered £50 compensation but have been reminded that "wasps are a natural occurrence". We left the property a day earlier than planned. Nice location. Nice landlord. Needs to improve on customer satisfaction."
