Staying in Worcestershire

If you want to learn something new Worcestershire has plenty of museums. The Salt museum and the George Marshall Medical Museum are especially good. Worcestershire Sauce may be the first thing to spring to mind when thinking of Worcestershire and food, but this county has a lot more to offer. With many cafes, pubs and restaurants using locally sourced produce to create both traditional and new meals there is plenty to choose from. No matter where your interests lie, Snaptrip has a brilliant selection of late availability self catering accommodation for your trip.

"I would fully recommend this property to anyone we had a fantastic stay! The Ferrymans Cottage is located in a beautiful remote setting - to the front of the property you have Uckinghall Meadow which stretches off to the horizon with a backdrop of the Malvern Hills (on a clear day!); to the back of the property is a child and fence secured garden with the idyllic setting of the River Severn and Uckinghall Pool adjacent. The wild life in the area is marvelous - from the back garden we saw a woodpecker, kingfisher, beautiful array of finches and tits and a badger. The cottage is very clean and generally very spacious and well equipped. The bonus for the younger members of the party was that the cottage has both WiFi connectivity and Sky Tv (sports and movie channels).I have to say I read Jo from Aylesbury's feedback before our visit which was a little concerning. Having been to the property all I can say is that she must have been having a bad day!My view on points previously raised:Shower: there are three showers and two baths in the property. One electric shower and two running off the boiler. This is a remote property so mains water pressure will inevitably be lower than an urban area. Individually all showers work perfectly. However, if you have lots of demands being made on the water supply at the same time inevitably pressure lowers and performance is hampered. Nothing the landlord can do about that!Fridge/Freezer: there are two large stand up fridge freezers in the kitchen. It does appear if the one is a recent purchase. Landlord appears to react positively to constructive feedback.Lounge: the lounge is slightly smaller than you might expect for a property of this size but is nice and cosy and comfortably sits 10 adults.Track: the cottage is located at the end of what I would call a "farmers track". Perfectly accessible provided you're not driving your Ferrari at speed! For me it is part of the joyful experience of being in the countryside - embrace!Boiler: paperwork in the cottage showed that new boiler fitted in August 2014.Access: this property is well suited to elderly or mobility impaired people. It has a ramp to front door and a twin bedded room and wc and shower facilities on the ground floor. In summary, lovely place to stay if you are wanting to enjoy a rural retreat within striking distance of civilisation."

"We really enjoyed our stay at S16363age over New Year. The rooms were comfortable and provided a good mix of double beds and singles for our mixed family group. The bathrooms were all clean, modern and plentiful - there were five full bathrooms with showers and one additional toilet. The kitchen was clean and well equipped with plenty of plates, cutlery, pots and pans etc so it was easy to cater for the group. The living room was not really big enough to accommodate fourteen of us comfortably but the dining room sat us easily so we were able to use this area too. The WiFi was not great but adequate. The garden was well fenced so suitable for our dog and there was easy walking along the river directly from the cottage. The drive to the cottage was interesting with some significant puddles on the last bit of the lane/driveway but otherwise the location is conveniently close to the M5/M50 but has the feeling of being in the middle of nowhere. Food at the nearby Railway Inn was excellent. All in all I'd recommend the cottage as somewhere that is well equipped, warm and comfortable and suited our needs as a convenient venue for a family get together."

"We enjoyed a large family get together here in January, and would highly recommend S16363age for that purpose. The house was spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped for large gatherings (with enough kitchen equipment for a large family roast). The photos don't really do the property justice, the bathrooms are all very modern and luxurious. Most importantly for a winter gathering, the house is extremely warm and comfortable (we have rented a number of properties in January and that is not always the case in some of the older properties). The only constructive comment I would give is that the road to the property is full of pretty deep pot-holes which had got very waterlogged when we were there. We were able to access the property ok, but I would not have wanted to drive a small or old car down that road in winter. The owner was very helpful before our stay, and it was all very smooth and easy. Thanks a lot!I would strongly recommend this property for large gatherings, and we would certainly return!"

"The apartment is very spacious, clean and tastefully furnished. Everything is new and clean from sofa to bed linen and kitchen equipment. The internet is fast and reliable. We live in Cape Town I spent 3 weeks at S25177 during exam time(A levels)to support our daughter who is a full time boarder at Malvern College. The apartment with two bedrooms is two minutes away from the school and was perfect for meeting and catering for our daughter and her friends and she was able to stay over night if she felt like a break from the boarding house.Parking was easy just outside the house and there is direct access for walking the Malvern Hills from the property. It takes 10 minutes to walk to the town centre, restaurants and theatre. The owners are very friendly and chatty, yet respect your privacy. I would definitely recommend the apartment and will come again next year to be supportive to our other child at Malvern College."

"This was a great place to stay to enjoy both the Malvern Hills and the theatre and Priory of Malvern itself, an easy walk straight up into the hills or into the town, but very peaceful and quiet on the edge of town. The owners are friendly and pleasant. The flat is reasonably well-equipped, spacious and comfortable, and cheerily decorated.A couple of things to be aware of: this is a lower ground floor flat, so you do hear the owners and their kids moving around above. This did not bother us, but might bother some. The whole upper part of the garden is for the use of the renter, overlooking the lower part which is for the owners' use and includes a trampoline which they are happy for renters to use when they are not in the garden. We were there in blustery October so did not want to sit out in the garden, but if you want exclusive privacy in the garden this shared arrangement might be a little bothersome."
