Staying in Worcestershire

If you want to learn something new Worcestershire has plenty of museums. The Salt museum and the George Marshall Medical Museum are especially good. Worcestershire Sauce may be the first thing to spring to mind when thinking of Worcestershire and food, but this county has a lot more to offer. With many cafes, pubs and restaurants using locally sourced produce to create both traditional and new meals there is plenty to choose from. No matter where your interests lie, Snaptrip has a brilliant selection of late availability self catering accommodation for your trip.

"House was cold and damp when we arrived. Mould on blinds in two bedrooms. Smell of drains in bathroom remained all week. Bunk bed room was small and dark as window blind was practically impossible to open. Bunk beds were noisy. Upper 'alternative sleeping area' was an attic accessed by steep and insecure spiral staircase. Lack of storage in all bedrooms, and that available was cluttered with odd items, and under-beds filled by bags of towels and linen. Main (only) wardrobe was a cloth covered frame affair. Downstairs lounge/diner/kitchen had items listed, but fridge was very noisy, TV remote did not work properly (program guide not available), and six dining chairs not balanced by just three lounge seats. General open plan, three storey layout, meant heating was unbalanced, with need to have high heat output to keep lounge area warm, but this made bedrooms too hot.No cloak room or hooks for coats nor space for boots/shoes near main door.Access to property via flight of stone steps to small courtyard - surfaces were very slippery when damp.Rear patio was littered with chain-saw chippings and hedge in photo is now over ten feet tall making patio less welcoming and restricting view.Overall, cleaning could have been more thorough."

"The cottage is mainly equipped, furnished and decorated to a very high standard, and in an ideal quiet secure location, just a 5 minute walk from all facilities in Broadway. There are pubs, eateries and a small supermarket open daily for 12 hours, opposite the Tourist Information Office. As a base it is perfect for exploring the northern Cotswolds, then returning for a relaxing evening. The kitchen in particular was well equipped with separate fridge, freezer and dishwasher. As others have remarked before, there are two major drawbacks - the lack of any hanging space in the upstairs bedroom, and no WiFi . We would also advise people to bring their own additional coathangers. We were troubled by some minor electrical problems, 7 lights not working and heating with a mind of its own. There is parking for 2 small cars but getting in and out is difficult, as witnessed by the marks on the wall. The entrance is located up a small alleyway, with the gates on the left hand side. This is not clear in the instructions and took us some time to find.We were blessed by wonderful weather throughout the week, sunny days and chilly evenings, and look forward to returning to continue exploring the area."

"We stayed over Easter weekend (booked for the week, but: chickenpox). The owner was extremely helpful. The cottage was very comfortable (fabulous beds) and in a great spot to visit family and the local area (beautiful). Bedrooms are upstairs and lounge/kitchen down; we have an able 2yr old stair climber, but others may want to take this into consideration. Kitchen was well equipped; lost points as there was mould in the fridge (easily cleaned by us though); towels could do with upgrading. Oh, and some tea towels. Bathroom was small but had everything you needed. Lots of manuals for electrical items, but a little how to guide for the heating would be welcome. 4yr old and 2yr old loved the bunk beds (we did wear them out enough to stop the constant bed swapping). Lovely deck with beautiful views. It is on a busy road, but if you keep an eye on the small people, this isn't a worry; there is a small patio and flight of steps to navigate once out the front door. Had a lovely break and would definitely book again."

"Well located and comfortable property. Drive access an issue when two cars are resident. The property is well equipped but freeview TV lacked red button facilities - which was significant when considering the lack of interactive connectivity. Said I would revisit but not until WiFi is available. Normally I can compensate by using 3G data services via a mobile signal but all mobile signals are very poor in Broadway. I could not connect via 3G and as a result there is a lack of internet and the ability to do basic research e.g. for places to visit, eat out, Tripadvisor etc. We had to visit the local pubs / hotels to get online. This situation is amazing since BT Superfast has reached the town! So liked the cottage and the location but not the lack of connectivity."

"The lack of WiFi was a major disappointment this day and age. It would be helpful if a note could be made in the welcome book that it is available at the Library opposite the cottage. The instructions for finding the property are incomplete. The entrance to the cottage itself is not actually in Leamington Road but up a side passage to some garages, where the electronic gate is situated on the left, and entrance and exit is somewhat tricky to say the least. It would helpful if a sign could be placed on the wall leading to this passage indicating S24475 is situated up there. Otherwise the location is superb and the cottage comfortable, although there had been a problem in that the remote control for the window in the master bedroom was 'broken'."
