What our customers say about their holidays

    • Steve - Verified booking

We had a fantastic time at The Stilehouse.

The grounds are stunning, the location is great and there is plenty to explore via the footpaths going in and out of the grounds. It’s easy to find near a lovely little village which has a great butchers shop. A little further down the road (about a minute), there is a little farm shop which has everything you need for the week. As a bonus it has a really good selection of beer from local ales to beers from Wiper & True, Wild Beer, Brewdog and a selection of Belgian beer. The view from the cottage is really very beautiful and the grounds are well looked after. It’s nice to wake up, open the blinds and look out over the grounds while enjoying a nice breakfast! We spent a lot of time wandering around the lakes/ponds and just sitting back and watching all of the wildlife. There is lots of seating all around the grounds if you want to just sit back and enjoy a good book in the sun, or there are routes out of the grounds if you fancy a nice walk. Every day we’d get a little visit from Alfie and Milly, their dogs. Both are lovely and very happy when they get a little extra fuss in their day! They’re also just as happy to see you and wander off if you’re busy. My wife is 6 months pregnant and she had no trouble at all getting around. With it being before the lockdown, Jackie was very accomodating in doing a little extra cleaning to alleviate any concerns we might have. The apartment was spotless and had everything we needed for a truly relaxing week. Thanks to Jackie and Paul for a lovely stay, your cottage and grounds are all very beautiful and we’ll definitely be back with the little one probably later next year.

The owner of the Garden View flat was so welcoming and eager to help, it was lovely.

The flat had everything you could wish for and I found it very comfortable and it is a brilliant location to visit the area. I think the only downside concerned my mother, who is 93. This is not a criticism of the flat in any way, but an observation that future visitors might want to take into account. The floors, in places, are worn brick, with rugs. This made her a little hesitant to walk around on her own, but since she often needs my help now anyway, it made no difference to our enjoyment. However, I probably wouldn't book this flat again if she was with me due to this aspect. It was easy to get to the flat along the flat garden path in the front of the property but does have a couple of steps into the front room. Again, this did not concern us as my mother can still manage some steps with help, but it may not be suitable for someone who was coming alone and had mobility problems. Please pass my thanks on to the owner and wish them well with their Sykes cottage venture. As I say, the comment above is not intended in any way as a criticism but just as a consideration if anyone with mobility problems was coming alone.

Stunning, beautiful, amazing, just a few words from many I could have choosen.

From start to finish we had a wonderful stay.On arrival Jackie (our host) greeted us, she was so warm and welcoming, and in her words ' nothing is too much trouble, this is your holiday, if there is anything you need, please say'. The accommodation was immaculate, well laid out and the bed was comfy, the bedding was so clean and crisp, there was everything we needed for a stay away from home. The grounds were beautiful with stunning views, they were well kept and had gorgeous tress shrubs and floweres throughout. The views were amazing and the wildlife plentiful.Jackies knowledge of the surrounding countryside it's villages and towns were second to none and we explored them all.We all have high expectations of our holiday and ours were exceeded, thankyou Jackie. We left feeling relaxed, refreshed and re-energised. Would we return In an heartbeat. .......it was amazing xx

For us, location is a prime reason for picking holiday accommodation, so this property takes some beating.

Waitrose is a 5 minute walk and there are 3 really good pubs also within a 5 minute walk. Add to that that you can be in the hills within 15 minutes from your door. We did 3 long walks from the doorstep without needing to take out the car, which is an important asset for us. The property is also roomy, the kitchen adequately equipped and the shower works well. With the heating on (included in the price) we were never cold. The lounge, which you tend to spend most time in, is a comfortable and sunny aspect. The property does, however, suffer from being a little on the sad side. It could really do with renovating if it were to compete with classier and more expensive properties. There is an issue with damp and condensation and if this is something that would detract from your holiday, then this property is perhaps avoided

We really enjoyed our stay at the Garden View!

The pictures online did not do the size of the place justice. We were surprised at how large the apartment was. Having a full bathroom, as well as a half bath, was wonderful. While we were comfortable, some of the comments from the other posts are accurate. The apartment is on the lowest level of an old house, so it is a bit damp and musty. The family lives upstairs, so it could be loud at times with children yelling and the dog barking. None of these things would stop us from booking the Garden View again, as it is a gorgeous apartment and very close to the center of town. Mehran was also a lovely host! We have been to Malvern many times, and this is the best place we have stayed, with lots of space for a great price. We are looking forward to the next visit.
