Welshpool may be a small town, but there is plenty to enjoy here. A short walk from the centre of town you’ll find the impressive Powis Castle. This impressive building surrounded by castles is a wondrous place to visit. If the castle gardens leave you wanting more, take a short drive to the fantastic 25 acre Glansevern's garden. For a more natural outdoor experience, explore the Glyndwrs Way National Trail. There’s lots to do in Welshpool.

"This characterful property looks fantastic with its old wooden beams and quirky decorations (old sewing machine, skis and saddles). It has three double bedrooms (two of which use curtains to provide privacy from the communal areas) a large open plan living room/kitchen dinner, a log fire and two large bathrooms. There is plenty of outdoor space including a patio area with great views of the countryside. It was great for kids - they loved the space and the mezzanine bedroom. It is probably best used in warmer weather. Unfortunately we arrived on an unseasonally cold and snowy Easter Monday and the central heating was broken... the log fire wasn’t able to keep the large open plan space warm by itself. The owner did provide extra blankets and a heater and had the boiler fixed by breakfast the next day. However even with the heating on and using the log fire the temperature didn’t reach 20 degrees C. The property could benefit from one or two extra radiators if used in cold weather. Also a toaster and a couple of mirrors would have improved the comfort/usability of the cottage. S21471 is well located and easy to find. It is a rural property a mile or two from small towns with shops etc. It is about 1 hour from the coast, Powis Castle and other local sites. The countryside nearby was lovely and good for walking."

"Me and my girlfriend went to S9113 for 3 days as a little getaway, we chose this place specifically for the remote location and the lovely views from the pictures.. well we was truly taken back when we arrived and took a look around the place! The views are absolutely amazing, I genuinely believe you would have a lot of trouble finding somewhere with a nicer view set, there was chairs and a table to sit and eat at while you enjoy the view and also some nice comfy sun bathing type chairs also. Inside was just as nice with a very spacious living room, kitchen and bedrooms which was a pleasure to be in and well equipped. We managed to stumble across a town fair whilst we was there exploring also which is probably the highlight of the holiday, everyone was so kind and welcoming which made it even nicer. We didn’t want to come home! I will absolutely be booking this place again in the future but probably for a longer stay!"

"S9113 is a hidden gem that opens up to the most beautiful landscape from its patio doors and windows, you don’t need the tv to watch I promise! We stayed as a group of museum designers so need the space and the 3 separate bathrooms for privacy. It’s roomy, comfortable has a wonderful kitchen to prepare meals, Mick & Sue have provided all the equipment you need. It was perfect for us to come back to in the evenings relax & enjoy a drink watching the sky change the landscape. It’s a little remote so you need to prepare what you need to shop for but we were happy to collect our food etc on the way home and cook for ourselves. Plenty of shops to choose to drive out to and perfect to get away from it all and just relax. We didn’t get a chance to experience the area much but the lodge was a real find! Thank you"

"From the moment we arrived and were welcomed by Margaret, two bottles of fizz and a tub of home-made brownies, we knew our family 'Eurovision' weekend was going to be great. This is just the most perfect place for a large family gathering, and so much room to spread out. The 'library' on the second floor is absolutely stunning, and the pictures on here do not do it justice. Plenty of fridge room, with an extra one for chilled drinks..... Good cooking facilities, and whilst the pots and pans may not be shiny and new, they are perfectly adequate. Also, if you're there with nice weather, as we were, there are three large BBQs on the patio. Beds were comfy, and the bedrooms a good size. We had a great time, and I'm sure we'll be back"
