"S26311 is a lovely large property with a welcoming atmosphere. There was plenty of space for our party of ten adults and a baby! The kitchen was well equipped and we lacked for nothing to make our holiday comfortable, although a couple of bedrooms could have benefited from extra storage space for clothes. We've stayed at lots of self catering properties in the past and often there are absolutely no basic supplies to get you started. It was refreshing to find a welcome pack of bread, milk and butter waiting for us, and the kitchen cupboards also had oil, salt, coffee etc for us to use!Our only disappointment was not having parking space on the property as advertised, The drive had not been completed and I think that having a secluded garden would also be an advantage. There was no private outdoor space. One other point, and I hesitate to mention this, but it was off putting for us, is that the property accepts pets and we did detect a slight doggy odour. This might not bother you if you have pets yourself, but it did us. That said, the property was nice and clean and the owner Lou kept in touch throughout the week to check that all was well."

"A superb large house set in magnificent scenery. Very handy for the local shops and pubs and perfectly placed for some interesting walks and visiting the coast. The house was very warm and cosy and has all the facilities one would require for a holiday with a large family or with numerous friends as we did. We were in an all adult party of 15 and the dining table and dining room was ideal for us all to sit around to eat and chat. A very large kitchen was ideal for our wives to We didn't get to use the pool table or the laundry room but they also looked ideal for chilling out and washing the family clothes. All the bedrooms are very comfortable and most have en-suite. The couple that don't have an en-suite have a bathroom next door which was perfect for us. The owner popped in a couple of time to ensure we had all we required and she made us feel very welcome. She even brought in one of her rams to see us who had his mind on other things! I would strongly recommend this house for a peaceful holiday and an excellent place for exploring this beautiful part of Wales. Thank you to the owners for your warm hospitality."

"There were 11 of us from 3 families; grandparents, 4 parents and 5 children, 3 aged 3/4, 1 aged 9 months and 1 8year old. The small ones loved racing round and round, the 8 year old loved the XBox. We also played a lot of football on the large paved area at the front and had a BBQ there. We were the first in the house and it was spotless. Inevitably there were a couple of things that had been forgotten e.g barbeque, hair dryer and large casserole dish but overall the house was very well equipped (e.g. the WiFi).We had wonderful weather which always helps but I was also amazed at how the valleys have been "greened" with country parks instead of pits and iron works. The Beacons are quite tame for us (we live at the edge of the Scottish Highlands) but the waterfall area at the top of the Neath Valley was superb. We also found Caerphilly Castle to be a wonderful trip.Overall for a family gathering in an attractive and interesting area we could not have done better."

"The property was amazing and the facilities were just what we needed for our family of 14. The owner was in touch regularly both before and throughout the break to ensure all was to our satisfaction. The welcome pack was comprehensive and she took time to discuss the archaeological survey when our daughter expressed an interest and allowed us access to the paperwork about the property's previous history as a chapel It was so lovely that during our 2 week holiday on several days we just decided to stay in and enjoy the house. The layout and facilities allowed for the 6 children to be doing several different things at once including some using the x-box, some crafting in the kitchen and the other playing in the games room. It was refreshing that we were all able to sit at once to eat together and there was plenty of furniture to relax together. We enjoyed the holiday home so much that we have already booked to stay there again"

"The property has a good sized garden and plenty of bedrooms many en suite which makes it good family accommodation. There is a great little sandy bay at New Quay which is a lovely little town with good parking a short walk from the beach, a working harbour running boat trips to see dolphins. There are plenty of small shops in New Quay and lots of atmosphere. I understand that there are good walks around the accommodation but we only found put about these at the end of our visit so if you enjoy walking or jogging check the ample literature early in your stay or speak to the owners about where to go. There is also a wonderful National Park area a short drive away which makes for great family walks which are all pushchair/wheelchair friendly - lots of red kites and even a snake! Sept 2011."
