"Where do I start, I booked this house to meet up with my 4 uni friends, their partners and children. We had a fantastic time. As soon as you enter, the drive up to the house is very impressive and the pictures do not do it justice. The house was massive, plenty of space that you did not feel you were in each other’s way/space. Plenty of seating around the dining table so we could all eat together and plenty of seating in the lounge so the adults could have a drink together while the children were in bed. Kitchen was a great size and well equipped for big groups. The games room was outstanding and such a luxury to have - the men definitely had fun in there playing on the pool table, snooker table, table tennis table and darts board. Because we had children we drove to Markeaton Park on the Saturday which was only 20/25mins away. We found the location perfect, nice and quiet but only a little drive away from shops, pubs and parks. We loved this place that much that we are booking again for next year."

"I was not really sure what to expect when I booked this barn for a family get together to celebrate several big birthdays and anniversaries, but the picture in the advert does not really do it justice. we have a great time and the four bedrooms worked very well for us. There was a bit of and issue with the hot water but this was rectified quite quickly as was the issue with wifi - we did not expect it to be great in view of the location - in the heart of the country. it is a perfect place for children as it is well away from traffic. My only complaint would be that the 'games room' was said to have table tennis, snooker & table foot ball when in fact there was only a snooker table. we had had the foresight to take garden games with us which were also enjoyed by other hirers - they probably thought they were provided !!"

"We had the most wonderful. Weekend here celebrating my mums birthday. We comfortably got fifteen of us in here and it still felt super spacious! There are beautiful bit sofas in the living room and the kitchen had everything. I think the dining room with balcony overlooking was the hub of the house though, lovely spaces for us to sit and chat. We had five kids in tow who absolutely loved exploring around the property, we felt safe letting them as its so peaceful and secluded. We had a lovely walk too! The only thing that didn't get 10/10 were the showers which were scorching or freezing, your choice! But that didn't stop us having the most wonderful weekend! There are so many places nearby to explore but we didn't make it to any, we just relaxed in and around the beautiful barn!"

"We were a party of 10 adults & 2 children who had booked for a 4 night stay over Christmas. One of the adults was 86 & the children were 1 & 2 years old. The large dining table was in a conservatory which was too cold to eat in despite having the heating on almost constantly during the day. We did use the dining room for our Christmas lunch wearing thick jumpers but otherwise ate in the lounge off coffee tables. An extra heater (fan/convector)needs to provided in the winter to get the conservatory to a reasonable temperature. The cottage was slightly shabby but adequate. We moved one of the beds to accommodate a cot & found cigarette ends underneath! The tennis court was well used for the children's ride-ons/bikes."

"accommodation adequate for our large family group with lovely large outside playing area but this was not fenced off so dogs had to be kept on a lead and small children watched AT ALL TIMES.Conservatory unusable due to hot weather. TV remote did not work and signal lost for BBC channels which spoilt the weekend for some who wanted to watch England in the World Cup. Our main concern though was that the hot water became scalding hot and one of the adults in our party suffered burnt fingers while testing the water temperature for a bath. This resulted in blistering several days later. We were worried that one of the children could be scalded. The shower in the downstairs en suite was unuseable."
