"La Cala is an extremely spacious cottage with a lovely open-plan layout downstairs and ample, flexible sleeping space on the ground and first floors. The location is excellent - close to the Brecons, good hiking country, a superb whisky distillery and the Brecon Mountain Railway. The WIFI was good throughout the property and the second sitting room with a little desk area was a welcome addition, allowing some guests to retreat to a quiet area while others cooked or watched TV. The cottage is let down by one or two aspects. Although it has two bathrooms plus an additional separate toilet, there is no separate shower (only handheld showers in the two baths). The dishwasher (essential in a cottage accommodating ten people) was rendered nearly unusable due to a broken lower basket. Some of the beds were extremely comfy while others were much less so. The lack of any welcome basket was also a bit disappointing - most holiday cottages at least provide milk and bread. These few niggles did not prevent our group of eight friends having a lovely weekend in this stunning part of Wales and on the whole the cottage was well equipped and comfortable."

"Our criteria were 1. WiFi. 2, enclosed garden because of 2 dogs and 3. Onsite parking.1. On arrival there was no WiFi and later it was very spasmodic to say the least and only available in the rooms at the rear of the property. Therefore my husband and son were not able to watch sport on our ipad and our granddaughters were unable to watch Netflix on TV even though the handset had a specific key to access it.2. The area of grass at the rear of the Cottage was bordered by the hotel on two sides and a low wall on the third side. This wall would not have kept a jack russell in never mind two labradors! The patio at the front of the property was not enclosed either.3. We did have parking near the house but had no designated spots but had to share with 5 caravans. We were not given towels as shown in the Cottage photos but a random selection of bath towels from shelves on the landing & no tea towels. We did not complain to the hotel as we understood that there had been a family bereavement shortly before our arrival."

"The views from the sun room and balcony are lovely and the front of the house is very well designed to maximise these. It is generally well equipped, although we find in most cottages we rent that the standard of cookware is generally archaic, budget and in need of a good clean and Meadow View was no exception to this. A slight disappointment given the price paid, as was the absence of a welcome pack and cooking essentials. Luckily we had visited the supermarket en route and brought milk, ketchup, cooking oil etc with us.The location is ideal for touring Pembrokeshire, supermarkets are a ten minute drive and Tenby is a thirty minute drive. As pointed out in an earlier review, you are in close proximity to two other dwellings, just metres from the balcony, so do not have the sense of being away from it all that the view implies. Do also be aware that the house is all on one floor and without outside access to a garden is technically an apartment with balcony."

"Ty Nant was beautifully clean and the owners had even provided some Christmas decorations, plus crackers, napkins & some complimentary items for our festive holiday. The kitchen was extremely well equipped with all the utensils, pots & crockery that we could have imagined. The bedrooms were a good size and the lounge, dining room and kitchen areas were well-furnished and very comfortable. With the winter weather, the outside parking area in front became a little muddy. Our dog was a welcomed visitor and also had a very happy stay, with his bed housed in the very large and warm hallway. Ty Nant is a little out of the way, located by very narrow lanes, but this meant that we were not disturbed by passing traffic. We enjoyed a lovely week and would definitely consider Ty Nant for another break."
