What our customers are saying about our Self Catering Holidays In Scottish Borders.

"Wow. We have run out of superlatives to describe this gem of a house - everything about it, from the warm and inviting log fire glowing on our arrival, to the impressively thorough attention to detail (even hot water bottles if needed!) enabled us to have a truly fabulous holiday over New Year. This is our 14th year of self catering new year trips, and without doubt, our best ever. The warmth, luxury and comfort of the gorgeous gatehouse (mirroring the warmth of the lovely owner, Andrea) were a treat for the body and soul. It is private, yet comfortably close to all amenities, and is a fantastic base for exploring the lovely Scottish Borders and Northumberland. We cannot recommend the house highly enough, would come back in a heartbeat, and will look back on a truly magical new year. Thank you, Andrea, you have an amazing house, and are a lovely host."

"When you discover something bordering on your idea of perfection it's hard to find words without sounding trite or cliched. The Lodge expereince was outstanding from start to finish. Information and communication from Andrea was exceptional and enabled us to make the most of every day; the recommendations in the guest information file got us off to a fantastic start; thank you so much for those! The greatest compliment we can pay is for us to say that Whitchester Gamekeeper's Lodge reflects generous hospitality at it's very best. Exquisite decoration throughout and attention to every little detail meant that we could relax right from the start. We had a truly brilliant time. Thank you hardly seems adequate but it comes from the heart. I'm certain we will be back!"

"A long, tedious drive up the A1 was more than compensated for by the welcome from Chris the owner of The Stables. The accommodation is more than adequate for 2 people and is very comfortably and stylishly furnished. The nice touch was the basic provisions provided by Chris - more than enough to enable us to relax for the evening and unwind. The off-road car parking was a bonus. Access to Jedburgh was a 5 minute walk down the hill, where most requirements could be met. The amenities to visit - The Abbey, Prison, Mary Queen of Scots house, are well worth going to. If going to Edinburgh use the 'park and ride' - £4 gives you all day travel on buses 33 and 49. Beware speed cameras on the A68! Overall, an excellent base for exploring the Border region"

"When we booked the apartment, what we were looking forward to was a quiet Christmas week on our own to relax for a bit - and we were more than impressed. The apartment was absolutely sufficient for two people, and everything was very clean and neat. There had obviously been taken great care with the preparation for our visit. There was also a selection of books and DVDs one could use for entertainment, as well as well working WiFi. The cottage was about two minutes away from a big Co-op and the general main street with shops, and about seven minutes away from Jedburgh Abbey. All in all, this place saved our Christmas and we're looking forward to returning at some point."

"The owner clearly take a great pride in what they do and are to be complimented regarding the comprehensive information that was provided prior to our arrival - over and above that supplied by Sykes. One of the best properties we have stayed at. The owner does require a 'good housekeeping bond' payment of £125 (September 2018 rate) prior to arrival which was reimbursed within 24 hours of vacating the property with no damage or additional cleaning requirements arising. There is are no mobile network connections in the immediate area but a landline telephone is available for contacting the owner and for 'essential calls'. Wifi is provided and is reliable."
