"Outstanding from the minute of arrival to the sad departure. I only say sad, as we did not want to leave. This cottage is truly out of this world. Immaculately clean with such attention to detail, coupled with the beautiful surroundings makes this a perfect home from home. Having stayed in many pet friendly cottages before I have found that owners don’t provide perfect cleanliness/furnishings and, although I can partly understand this, Blueacres took my breath away for being different from this norm. Set in what can only be described as one of the most beautiful viewpoints in Scotland, this cottage also has a south facing garden which is a dream to sit out in looking across the hills. The sheep and the resident pony are added extras and entertainment. Never before would I have been so sad to leave a lamb which had became my favourite little character. The owners are down to earth, friendly people with very beautiful dogs who all love attention as they come by and visit you at the gate. This cottage is perfectly situated to explore the Scottish Borders, Lanarkshire and beyond as well as providing welcome respite from a busy life. I think I will always return here and I think I left a little bit of my heart in Blueacres. I would love to tell no one about this place and keep it as my hidden gem however I cannot be selfish and highly recommend to anyone who wishes to book. You will not regret it. 10/10."

"Lovely cottage, easy to find and clear instructions from the friendly, welcoming owner. The cottage is in a quiet area close to several bigger towns with shops and places to eat. We found Melrose very good for eating out with the dogs as there were a number of dog-friendly places giving a choice of different menus/pricing and it is a lovely town with an impressive ruined abbey. Plenty of places to visit nearby too, not used to only having so much to do within such a short distance! The cottage was clean and comfortable, with the choice of the living room or conservatory to sit in and plenty of parking outside. There is a small but well-equipped kitchen area. The garden is lovely, though the back fence is low and one of our dogs had to be kept on a long-line in the garden just in case he decided to go and play with the sheep on the other side of the fence. Really enjoyed our stay here and would certainly consider coming back."

"My wife and I have just returned from a 4 day motoring mini-break in the Scottish Borders. We picked Blueacres as our base as it was central to our travel requirements. The accommodation was excellent, being contemporary, airy, and spotless, with all mod cons and lacking nothing. Linda our host was very friendly and helpful; she obviously has high standards paying a lot of attention to detail in a nice way.A welcome pack was provided on arrival together with dog treats. Fresh flowers added a nice touch making the whole experience very pleasant.Utility services etc were all included in the price with no extras.I have no hesitation in recommending Blueacres as suitable accommodation for a couple (with dog) wanting to explore the Borders, it is a little remote, meaning a car is pretty much essential, although the peace and tranquility make it worth it."

"Brilliant holiday. Lovely property. Very helpful and discrete owners. Views superb. Easy access to direct rail service to Edinburgh. At the time of review just £9.10 off-peak day return, plus free parking at Stow station. The property is fully equipped with everything you will need and the welcome pack was very thoughtful. Access to Borders towns easy and Melrose especially well worth a visit. Despite the apparent remoteness, an excellent restaurant ( The Firebrick) is only 5 miles away at Lauder and is a must for a special meal. Lots of walks close by and from the door, and the owner will provide lots of local information. We will return especially for the peace and quiet, comfort, walks and easy access to Edinburgh. The wifi and phone signals (o2 & EE) very good. Probably one of the best cottages we've stayed in."

"Had a great time at Hassendean Station Cottage, the view across the fields is priceless and the occasion visit of a large herd of sheep, munching away one minute, asleep under the tree the next. Such a relaxing time, spent hours in the conservatory and fantastic evenings sat by the log burner with the dogs snoozing from their long walks. Hawick is just five miles away with great places to eat and pretty much everything you need. it's also the home of Cashmere so a purchase of local produce is a must. Visited Melrose, Jedburgh only Thirty mins away, Lindisfarnes only an hour and a quarter but check the tides. The cottage is well equiped and maps are supplied of local walks and things to do. Had a great time and would probably visit again. Lovely part of the world."
