What our customers say about their holidays

We have visited Netherraw for three years running however, sadly this will be the last time.

As a positive if you want isolation and great night skies and walks on your doorstep, Netherraw is perfect. There is hardly any noise, so you can hear the wildlife all around you. The upstairs bedrooms now have hangers for your clothes and ample drawer space. Sadly, the negatives we found were numerous. The shower basin easily flooded and water spilled over on to the floor. The only way to avoid this was to turn the shower on get wet, turn the shower off, lather up and then rinse off. Which isn't what you expect to do. This was raised last year when we came, but nothing has been done, in fact it is worse. The extractor fan isn't strong enough to cope with the steam in the shower room, so we had to leave the door open for it to escape. Not ideal but thankfully there was only the two of us. The toilet seat in the shower room, the laminate is cracked underneath and looks like it would soon start to peel off. The hot tube was part of the attraction of going to Netherraw, especially after long walks. On the second day we removed the hot tubs cover only to find that the headrests were damaged through wear and tear, their coverings were cracked and in some places none existent exposing the foam/cushioning underneath - so we decided not to use it. The overall feeling for us was that through usage the cottage just needs a bit of TLC.

We really enjoyed our 3 night stay at Netherraw cottage.

Absolutely nothing to fault. The space was perfect and in the middle of the countryside with nothing but nature all around us - where we also enjoyed a few walks. Inside the cottage was very homely with everything you could possibly need and very comfortable. The weather was also wonderful, but that just added to the experience where we spent most of the time out the back, eating, having a few relaxing drinks and spending time in the awesome hot tub out the back too! Thank you for making this lovely cottage a lovely experience for anyone who enjoys a nice escape to the country, which we most appreciated!

We throughly enjoyed our stay at Netherraw, the cottage was first class.

It was lovely to come back after a days walking to a warm comfortable cottage, especially when we had been walking in snow. The electric shower was fantastic a definite power shower and the wi-if was great the speed was exceptional. Absolutely no complaints from us or the dogs who patiently sat in the garden waiting for something to come along the road which was not very often! A truly peaceful and tranquil area pass our thanks onto your cleaner as she does a brilliant job, the place was spotless.

The pictures do not do this place justice as beautiful as the pictures are, it was truly amazing.

With us on our week we had family from 3 different households and dogs and it had everything we needed. Everything was clean and in its place, the garden, hottub and field was perfect. The owners who I had to call twice during our stay because we actually wanted to extend our stay even when on her own break away was so helpful and kind and took the time to deal with us. I can not recommend this beautiful home and area enough. You will definitely be satisfied..

      Amazing location.

Managed to catch a sunny day so the hot tub looking into fields and wooodland is just an absolute treat. Comfiest bed ever. We had the best time and had everything we needed. We didn’t realise that Hermitage Castle is only a couple of miles away so felt we had totally secured a gem of a stay! Would highly recommend and will be back if we visit the Borders again. Thank you
