"Creel Cottage is two fishermen's cottages made into one. It is very well decorated, with good quality furniture, comfortable beds and is spotlessly clean. The welcome pack is the best I have ever seen - lovely to be able to have a coffee and a piece of cake before needing to go food shopping. Laura, the owner is lovely, her attention to detail is amazing - dog biscuits, dog and beach towels provided, even games and books. The layout did not really suit us because the 2 bedrooms are at opposite ends of the cottage, so quite far apart, although clearly great for couples sharing, not so great for families with children. Good sized rooms, bedrooms and living room are large and very nicely decorated. We had problems the first day with the keys, difficult to open both doors and then when re returned we could not open either door. Luckily the spare keys are with the neighbour across the road who seeing we were having difficulty, very kindly came over with the spares which worked. The rest of the week we used the spare kitchen door key and did not have any further problems. Laura also oiled the door the following day while we were out. During the early hours of Wednesday morning, 1.48am, everyone was waken up by parked half on the narrow pavement outside the bedroom window, very loud, made our dog bark and upset my son. They drove off when I knocked on the window. The street gets busy in the evenings with several small transit vans, although we did manage to park our small car each day and there is a carpark further down the road. There is a stone beach nearby, assessed by fairly steep steps, the beach is beautiful and great for walking the dog each morning. We visited Dundee which is only about 40 minutes away, the V&A is well worth visiting, along with the Discovery and information Centre. Dundee is great for shopping, the River Tay waterfront is ideal for walking dogs. We also visited House of Dunn (NTS) which is only 30 minutes away, house is by guided tour only, its a good idea to book. Further away, over an hour is Drum Castle (NTS) again a great day out and house is by guided tour only. Dogs are welcome in the grounds. Lunan Beach is only 20 minutes away, this is a really lovely sandy beach with free parking and dog friendly. We were really lucky with the weather, Creel Cottage is warm and cozy, great for games evenings and family time. The attention to detail is really impressive and deserving of extra mention. Laura is a lovely owner, who its clear cares about providing a lovely clean and welcoming cottage. Thank you, Laura. I've recommended the cottage to friends."

"Lovely renovated farm cottage in a row of 4 located right beside the original working farm. Pleasant and very helpful hosts. The cottage is clean and well presented on the edge of a single track road. A garden with hot tub is located across a gravel driveway that serves all 4 cottages and even though there is a wooden fence and a shed for changing in the garden it didn't feel just as private as previous hot tub cottages I've visited. Lovely sky views at night but some flowers or other features to the garden would be an advantage. On this note possibly net curtains or blinds on the bedroom windows would be beneficial especially on road side bedrooms which is popular with walkers, as do not always want to close curtains through the day. But in the main would highly recommend especially for hikers, not much local amenities for children though Portmahomack is a beautiful village and does have a nice beach"

"A beautiful holiday cottage in a wonderful location. Bayview has been renovated to a very high standard and has been decorated and furnished with style and taste. It is very comfortable and very well equipped. The owners have thought of everything. They even provided home cooked dinners in the freezer for guests to purchase as the dining-out opportunities on Sanday are rather limited. They also make dogs very welcome. There was a lovely collection of food from the island to welcome us - fresh free-range eggs, Orkney butter, homemade jam and shortbread and a local loaf. There were even treats for the dogs, dog bowls and towels and dog toys.We had a wonderful relaxing time in this comfortable cottage. The location is quite unique - between the sea and a loch and it's very quiet. The ideal place to get away from it all. We didn't want to leave and we certainly want to return!"

"We had a fantastic Easter weekend break with our little boy at this very clean and cosy cottage. Fabulous views and lots of little touches that just made the stay that little bit special. Blue by Ewe is well equipped and there was even milk, some biscuits, tea / coffee and some Easter sweets waiting on our arrival! The cottage owners are lovely and we even ordered a home cooked meal which was delicious! (My son can particularly recommend the sweetcorn fritters!) The cottage is right near to Inverewe Gardens which is definitely worth a visit! There are also plenty of local walks and a lovely beach more or less on the doorstep. Gairloch is also worth a visit if you want to do a boat trip. The local shop is well stocked but it is worth doing a stop at Inverness en route if you want to stock up before your stay. All in all, we had a wonderful time!"

"This was our second visit (first was to the next door cottage - 'Paddock'), so we already knew what to expect. This experience was as outstanding as our first and we would give it a 5 star rating. The cottage itself is so warm, clean and comfortable and very inviting. Decorated and furnished to a very high standard, with the added bonus of a hot tub in the garden and best of all - dog friendly. The owners are exceptionally nice and caring - nothing too much trouble, and nearby if you needed them. The area is surrounded by beautiful beaches, stunning scenery, and snow dusted mountains. We had perfect weather - warm and sunny 20+ degrees all week, which felt like the Med! We were even lucky enough to spot dolphins one day. We will be back, for sure!"
