"A weird location, being in a business park. Not an obvious choice of location for a holiday let. Noise from lorries going in and out, and occasionally bothered by lorry drivers at the door, thinking we were somehow relevant to them! The house would benefit from:1 better information in the booklet about nearby attractions/ facilities (e.g. nearest supermarket, best local pubs, days out, etc)2 better kitchen layout - it is not a cook's kitchen - it is well served for glasses and crockery and cutlery but I strongly suggest you get some more stuff e.g. measuring jug, scales, baking trays (we have left you a potato peeler!) and cake tin, serving spoons, salad servers3 being able to convert the double beds into singles to allow more flexibility4 working air con on the ground floor - we could not get it to work in the corridor with the three rooms coming off5 a hot tub that isn't over 40 degrees centigrade! --- it was far too hot --- and it needs filling with more water6 the games room is great but we couldn't get the space invaders or the fruit machine to work - maybe time to upgrade/ replace?7 more keys/ fobs. Two is not enough for a house that sleeps 14 in 7 different double rooms. Or give guests the combination code so they can key it into the gate and get through. It was such a pain having only two between us. On the plus side, the house was spotlessly clean and we were really impressed by Eva and Paul in particular, who responded to our issues very promptly. The dishwasher gave out while we were there and they dealt with it really well. Great towels and linen. Thanks also for the goodie basket."

"We are a family of two adults, a teenager and a toddler. The Bothy was a perfect getaway for us all. It's a ten-minute drive from the M6 and about 20 minutes to Penrith. We visited Windermere which took a little over an hour, though there was snow so we were driving with caution. The accommodation is lovely and the photos on the website really don't do it justice. The zip-wire in the garden kept us all entertained and we enjoyed walking around to see the pond with the swans. The crazy golf course was covered in snow when we were there but it looked like it would have been fun for the family. The kitchen is one of the most well-stocked rental property kitchens we'd ever seen - there were more appliances than we have in our own home! The house was warm, despite the weather and there were plenty of books and board games to keep us occupied in the evenings. There are two bathrooms, though no bath. The owners are lovely and strike the perfect balance between being welcoming hosts and leaving you to have your own space. We cannot recommend The Bothy highly enough and very much hope to go back again."

"Cottage on a farm with another cottage next-door and owner in farm-house on site. The cottage is in the middle of nowhere and it snowed when we went in February. Fantastic views of night-sky from garden. It was modern inside, spotlessly clean, comfortable sofas, well equipped with games for kids. Some thoughtful extras - wine, sweets. Easy to use, cosy feeling optimist fire. Our main problem was that the biomass heating came on in the night in the bedroom. It was vibrating and making a loud low hum and could not be turned off, so we couldn't sleep on the first night. It was a mistake that was sorted out quickly the next day when we spoke to the owner's son. We had chosen the property from the description/photos which said there was a large wooden play area just outside the cottage. The children were looking forward to this, but unfortunately it had recently been removed to make room for the garden for the larger property next door. It should have been changed on the description but it had not been."

"What a lovely place for an autumnal escape! Great location and a fabulously cosy and homely cottage to come back to each day. We have had some great walks from Dunwich, Walberswick, Thorpeness and Snape... thanks for providing the walking books and OS maps! We had an excellent meal at Main's Restaurant over the road and G&T's café, also in Yoxford, is great - amazing cake! The area is spoilt for choice for cosy winter pubs; we loved Eels Foot Inn at Eastbridge, the Ship at Dunwich and the Lord Nelson in Southwold... but there are many, many more! (and we did the pub quiz at White Hart in Blythburgh - it was packed! All in all a great stay. We return home well rested thanks to the comfy beds and lots of fresh air, we'd love to come back! PS. Also great Wifi compared to lots of holiday stays!"

"A wonderful week exploring Suffolk from this ideally located, cosy cottage. The highlight for all the family was a day at Covehithe beach, a glorious stretch of sand with very few people. Great views of Southwold Pier in the distance. Southwold offered us a lovely walk; we crossed to Walberswick on the foot ferry - a sturdy rowing boat helmed by an elderly but skilled skipper. The lighthouse was also worth a visit. We also enjoyed a day at Snape Maltings & Britten's Red House/Exhibition was good too. We were lucky to be here during Snape Proms. Sutton Hoo and Woodbridge (walk along the river) was another great day and we enjoyed the circular walk from Dunwich. All in all a super holiday enjoying the Suffolk countryside in a comfortable and homely cottage to return to."
