Once significant as an important ecclesiastical centre, Rosemarkie’s main feature is still its parish church. However, holidaymakers are likely to be more interested in its lovely beach which extends all the way to Chanonry Point. Keep your eyes peeled for marine wildlife while you walk along the beach or enjoy a dip in the sea. For more entertainment and shopping opportunity, Inverness is only half an hour away by car.

"The owners is nice old chap very welcoming but the sad truth is the cottage has seen better days. The bathroom has black mold and smells. The fridge is worn out and runs continuously and does not keep things cold enough. It is so noisy it stops you sleeping at night. We gave up turned it off at night and went to the shops each day for fresh food. There is no freezer. The boiler is also very noisy. The lighting set up is ridiculous with all the upstairs and downstairs lights in the main areas on one circuit. Spot light shine in your face when watching TV. By contrast the kitchen area has no lights over the work service and is dark and dingy to the point of being dangerous to chop in. The sky light over the bed area has a blind but the sleeping area is open to the living area and skylight over that area has no blind or no means of closing it so you get woken up by daylight at 4.30 am at this time of year. There was no information as to things to do in the cottage or places to go.The garden is lovely but again no garden furniture to enjoy it so you are stuck inside.Overall the property is not to a suitable standard for renting out to,the public in its current state. With some work, new equipment and some thought it could be lovely."

"I had a very comfortable weekend stay with my dog. The cottage is just round the corner from the Links seafront and ideal for dog walking and general walking and access to the beach. Also many town food outlets and pub/restaurants in easy walking distance. During my stay I appreciated the quiet location despite being on a main street. The cottage feels like a detached house although "attached" to a property next door on one wall. Well equipped and with good Wi-fi and Blu-ray player a bonus. Lighting could be better in some areas especially the kitchen and lounge. I was comfortable but a large group might find the kitchen seating restrictive for main meals. The patio table at front of house not ideal for main meals. Easy parking on street round the corner - parking right outside only really suitable for loading/unloading due to near blind corner and no pavement. I would stay again and recommend for up to 4 adults or 2 adults/3 kids if eating in. Double bed and bathroom on ground level - stair not good for disabled. Shower room and 2 bright and airy bedrooms upstairs."

"Cottage had everything we needed plenty of movies , books etc for the children , small televisions in all the bedrooms , and well equipped and comfortable ,but looking a little tired , kitchen floor covering was lifting for example , and dishwasher in need of replacement with bottom tray jamming which caused some frustration. Very clean on arrival and in a lovely location in the quiet village backing onto the woods which was great for the children and dog. A large garden which again great for children , but not dog proof if like ours your dog has a tendency to go off hunting.A short drive to Nairn so fine for shopping and walks on the beach. A 30 minute drive to Roseisle where there is a stables and riding in the forest and beach. About an hours drive to Aviemore where we went skiing"

"On the day we arrived the fire was ready to be lit but when we turned on central heating it was not working, contacted the caretaker, unavailable so contacted owner, unfortunately he was unavailable as he was in Ireland ,so a cold first night, The next day we contacted the owner, he was very apologetic, contacted a plumber instantly and he arrived within one hour and fixed the problem, the rest of the holiday in the cottage went as planned and was very comfortable with everything we needed, the day before we were due to leave the owner turned up with a bottle of wine and was so nice and apologetic again, in all a very nice cottage and would stay there again if we go back to that area, just an unfortunate start to the holiday which was beyond any body's control"

"At the time of my stay the woodburning stove was broken and unable to be used. The fridge was in need of repair and as it was situated downstairs and directly underneath the bed the continual noise of the motor meant I had to turn the fridge off at night in order to sleep. I feel as the cottage has few light switches - but far too many lights - a power cut would create a very uncomfortable place to stay, especially for a solo traveller like myself. I would have enjoyed to use my radio by the bed but couldn't reach the only available socket as it was hidden behind a huge head board.I am sorry to paint such a sad description of the property which in other circumstances and with some repairs and alterations would be a lovely place to stay...but not for me."
