On arrival we were impressed with the look of the lodges and the design of the courtyard. We entered the lodge and there was an over powering smell of damp and the general cleanliness was not very good. The following day we went out for the day and on our return when entering the lodge there was a smell of sewage. We cut our stay short and on leaving we told the owners why we were leaving. He said he would look into it.

Good - comfy bed, surprisingly good selection of cooking implements, short distance to some amazing mountain walks, quiet (when I was there).Improvements needed - could do with some decorative TLC (scrap marks on wall near oven taken paint off). Wet room just ends up with the entire floor soaked & no ability to squeegee the water away + areas of floor grouting missing/floor not sealed so cannot be properly cleaned + water escaping under the skirting board going who knows where. Even though quite private, lack of horizontal blinds means can see/be seen by others in other cabins opposite.Bad - may have been time of year (autumn) but there is a biomass (I think) boiler attached to the adjoining hotel which spews out large amounts of wood smelling smoke which frequently hung over the cabin area. It became overpowering & unpleasant at times - not good to be inhaling these particulates & unable to have doors/windows open to get fresh air in the cabin when it is churning out smoke.I think a few things could make this place even better - but the smoke was a big issue.
